I have a Linksys G Wireless Modem and I can not figure out how to change the channel. My Cordless phone causes much interference with it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,
As far as I am concern 2.4GHz is a Big No No in Wireless Network envioroment, some people think that they get away with changing the phone's channels. However, even when it looks like it working, it is always ?depressing? the Signal.
Better off, to downgrade to 900MHz, or Upgrade to 5.8GHz.
You can get to your web config program by typing 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 in the address bar of IE. Enter you password when you get the prompt. The page to change the channel should be under the wireless tab.
Jack, I have had very good luck with GE phones. I have one right next to my card and still get a pretty good signal.
Trying not to be harsh here but did you even attempt reading the manual? If you don't have a paper version it is definitely online at Linksys's website. Sounds like you were lucky and didn't have to configure anything, which means you have no security in place (BAD). Typing the IP of the router (given in the literature) is probably on page 1. Certainly wouldn't have to go very deep to find that information. Proper advice has been given in the thread but I suggest you read the manual and get better acquainted with your network hardware.
