Don't forget the click whenever anyone points the gun at somebody.
Racking the slide is one thing, but simply cocking the hammer is another. I always tried to convince myself that there was already a round chambered and the gun was double-action, and therefore cocking the hammer at least had some significance, meager though it might be. Like it was just one tiny step closer to firing. My favorite is bad guy pointing gun at somebody telling them to do something. Then when the opponent doesn't listen bad guy racks the slide pulls the hammer back - "Now I'm serious!"
Ok! Ok! Now you're serious, I'll do what you say!
And make sure to always rack the slide when you are ready for.action, even if youve done it twelve times already
Pump shotgun scenes are great. Elmer Fudd guns even more so... just how many rounds are in there!?And make sure to always rack the slide when you are ready for.action, even if youve done it twelve times already

I can't remember exactly, but my friend's shotgun holds either 6 or 8. Movies aren't too bad when it comes to shotgun ammo.
I think Army of Darkness was supposed to be stupid like that. Wasn't there a scene where he jumps on a shopping cart and start firing like a maniac while riding it? And he breaks a sword by shooting it.
Sure he didn't reload it exactly but he basically reloaded

Actually, there probably are some rifles that can be fired double action? Not sure
Don't forget the sound of cocking a hammer on a striker fired weapon. Like Glocks and such.
And LOLagree at the typical:
1) we're in the car, everybody rack the slides
2) ok, we're at the door, everybody rack the slide
3) Got the good/bad guy at gun point, make sure to rack the slide to make they know you mean business
Proper gun safety. You should always un-cock the gun when it doesn't need to be cocked
So you're suggesting people carry loaded guns WITH THE HAMMER BACK instead of carrying guns that are not yet cocked?
Seems really dangerous. When I put a loaded gun in the front of my pants, I think it's a real possibility that just the motion of my walking around and being cool would push the safety off.

The man is so scared that he sleeps with a gun with the safety off, cocked with one in the barrel on his nightstand.
He's so scared that i doubt he ever ventures outside his home without at least five lifguards, oh and he's going to start a revolution too, has been starting it for a few years, almost ready to go, unfortunatnly, as he is too scared of hoodlums to leave his house, he won't be participating.
He will scream racial slurs through his window to egg them on though.

Nightstand is an Springfield XD/glock, trigger and grip safety only. Wife's side is her revolver. Pump shotgun ready to go, safety on close by. 1st floor is 1911, condition 3, hidden. Basement is an AR, ready to fire, hidden, safety on.
An unloaded weapon is a useless weapon. And I'm out on my nice deck enjoying the weather right now, 30 feet from a weapon ready to go.
Just like having a plan for a fire, we have a practiced plan of action.
