dumb question but how do I delete the "links" folder in favorites?

I delete it, then it comes back.. quite annoying. How do I remove it permanently

What I have done is you go and get the PowerTools for Windows XP, this includes TweakUI and this gives you the option for turning the Links folder off in the Favorites. Under Explorer in TweakUI you have a checkbox that says, "Show Links on Favorite Menu"

Or, right click on it -> Properties -> check the Hidden box -> OK.

Here is a link to a web page. That will show you how to get rid of it by editing the registry it self. This way you don't have the hide the thing. Also if you don't like to use powertools. All the tweaks I do is done in the registry it self.

I have had success with the TweakUI utility. This allows you to not show Links on Favorites menu.

I'm confused. When I first read this post I deleted mine (never tried before) and assumed it would come back because of the responses but it didn't. I just hit the star(favorites) right clicked on the links folder (it was empty) and selected "delete". I then went to the recycle bin and emptied it I have restarted the computer twice and it has not come back.

Oh yeah and I deleted the registry key "links folder name" (or something like that under H_key_current_user/software/microsoft/internet explorer/toolbar
