Usually when they are too chickensh!t to do it in your face, they haven't been faithful.

It's astounding that you and she would be so far apart in thinking where things stood. Was it a long-distance relationship, or did you see each other regularly?

She was just down this weekend, and we watched Prozac Nation and she started cry, and I just held her for like an hour or two. Everything was just as it should have been. I'm convinced she met someone else. But not in a violent way. I wouldn't do anything to hurt her, and I hope she's gonna be happy. Man, I just feel really really really stupid.

I do too, but would do the same regardless of why you posted - or, for that matter, if you hadn't posted

Seriously though, that really fscking sucks, sorry Sounds like communication between you two wasn't very good, if it'd been building to a breakup in her view and to marriage in yours. Just curious, how old are you both?

You're probably better off because you obviously had the wrong idea about your relationship.

Well atleast you can return the ring and treat yourself to a nice consolation 6800ultra.

And you should look at the bright side of things. What if you beat her to the punch and asked her to marry you. maybe she would have said yes and you would have had an ugly and short marriage. you dodged a bullet here

Small bit of advice, closure is highly over-rated.

Depending on what she said when she broke up with you, I'd suggest not going for that return call.

Also, just to throw it out, not to rub salt in the wound, but I'll bet she has someone else lined up to be the next victim already.

It's going to be difficult and incredibly hard not to call her, but don't do it. At this point, it's over and not worth salvaging anything. You both had two entirely different views of the relationship, and this was actually a blessing in disguise. Take some time for yourself and do your own thing for a little bit and don't jump back into a new relationship yet. It'll only end up being a rebound relationship and that will crash too. Do your own thing for a bit, be a bachelor again, try your best not to call her. This exact situation happened to my friend Danny a year ago. It took a lot of willpower (and drinking ) on his part to not call her up, but he landed someone ten times better after all was said and done.

My best of luck to you, keep your head high and move on. No closure, as Pliablemoose said, closure is bullshit and it's usually something you don't want to hear anyways even if you think you do. No answer she gives will be satisfactory.
