The book is even better. I read the book before the movie came out and I loved it. Loved the movie too.

Great book, some great video games as well. That 1984 movie.. it's alright. You should check out the 3 part mini series it's alright to.

I think anyone who read the book loves the movie.

Outside of the readers, it probably doesnt have a super huge following.

I don't like how closely the Fremen resemble the Taliban, lol. You defiantly won't see a Western movie with heroes looking like that.

MY real biggest problem with the movie, as with any book I love that is made into a movie, is that it's too short. Too much lost content.

I'm thinking HBO series would be nice.

Half the book is internal dialogue lol. I wonder if there is a way to do that properly on film?

I read the first book 4 times I think but always shied away from the rest of them and definitely avoided the ones written by his son. Have you read them all?

Same here. I thought the book was boring and the names were too much to keep up with. I also found the movie to be boring.

Someday, when I am a famous filmmaker, I would like to take a stab at remaking Dune. Ever Dune I've seen has been terrible. I've liked the SciFi channel's version the best so far, and that was also terrible. The books (well, first book at least) were so intriguing. Dune is probably my all-time favorite sci-fi novel. The guy who did newest Count of Monte Cristo should do Dune.
