I just noticed that Steam is offering DS 1 and 2 for free if you pre-order DS3. I never played DS so I wanted to find out what other RPG's does this compare to ? Is it similar to DA ?
I only played DS 1.
Your party would get better at melee, ranged, or magic the more they used them.
The only problem was that they eventually got so good that they played themselves. All I had to do by the final battle was press mana or health potion icons.
The graphics were really good for the time.
So if you order DS3 you get DS1 and DS2 on steam? I may have to consider this, I actually quite enjoyed DS2 but neither of them were on steam last I checked.
Purchase Dungeon Siege III before release and receive single player versions of Dungeon Siege and Dungeon Siege II to play now!
What difficulties were there? I don't even remember.
I always play on "normal" or "medium", but DS didn't inspire me to play through a second time.
I'm not saying I hated it, but once was enough.
strange, they just added Dungeon Siege 1 to Steam, for $49! http://store.steampowered.com/app/39190/
I laughed when I read the min spec requirements

DS1 had the most linear game world I've ever played. You literally went either forward or back, there was no branching off to be done.
It's almost like an anti-Bioware RPG. Not that it's bad (though to me it was), but if you're looking for a story focused game, this isn't it. If you want Diablo-esque hack-slash-rinse-repeat, this might be worth a try.
Its not an RPG. Its an action game with stats.
And there was plenty of branching off to do but they were always hard to find and didnt mean much. Rarely did it get you extra items and never rare spells or super monsters. It was just necessary to track down little groups of regular monsters, which you needed if you wanted every last XP.
i love story in my games too, but i will admit that the older i get, the more impatient i get with games. i remember spending hours and hours playing ds1. i loved it. of course i played this game before i ever played diablo. linear or not, it was a great game imo.
having said that, i am quite disappointed in the trailers on steam. what happened to actually promoting a game via the game trailer? lol seeing a few seconds of slowed down, blurred combat does not entice me to purchase their game.
