So apparently, Tt is going to be releasing a CPU version of the DuOrb. Looking at the picture though, it looks a lot more like a Siamese twins version of a MaxOrb more than the VGA DuOrb. Also, I think you're pretty much screwed if you use the OCZ Reapers or Corsair Dominators.

Anyways, I just thought it was an interesting curiosity for fans of the original DuOrb.

looks retarded and hangs over the first and second memory slot. not even close to worth it IMHO

Think of the cooling it will provide to the memory and other components on the motherboard near the CPU. Active cooling wouldn't be needed on those with this HSF. Though not sure that's enough of a bonus to warrant it.

Gerr, if you want uber cooling for the surroundings you could just get a GeminII, or a regular down-blowing HSF. You could also duct a tower heatsink so it draws air in only from where you want, and have it blow out where you want.

The INQ got their hands on one already. From reading the semi-review, it sounds like it does provide decent MOSFET/chipset cooling. I'm not overly impressed by the actual CPU cooling though.

Eh, it's not really the best review though. They use an atypical CPU, and the comparison HSFs aren't exactly commonly used ones either.

Its easy to get your hands on one if you know the right people....
You are right about the CPU cooling....
But hey it`s a real conversation piece!!

lol

I think this is a cool idea, they just need better fans, unless the fans on it are queit. The ram cooling is a nice touch, and the mosfet cooling too. Maybe they should rethink the heat pipe design, it should atleast have 8 of them, 4 on each side.

Its not that it needs it, but I would rather have it, and I m sure other overclockers would too. I mean who wouldnt want extra cooling for there ram? Just to be safe.

It would be great for Crucial Tracers while oc'ing. They need a better hsf, they get so hot that the system crashes....Random rant.

But I don't like it to much. First you have to use only standard ram for it, and it looks like a PAIN in the ass to get it on there. Especially if it is using push down pins.

if ram doesn't really need cooling, why sacrifice good CPU cooling for it?

that like saying why don't we cool our SB's or sound cards just incase haha.

if you're ram is getting so hot that ur system restarts or freezes u need to either lower your overclock, or RMA ur faulty ram...

But no even on idle it runs hot, pc-8500. And memtest shows up fine.

wait, you're phase cooling your CPU and your ram is running hot with active cooling. Something's not adding up. Either you plugged up the rams airflow with dielectric grease so it's not cooling properly or it's got way, way more voltage than it should.
