Duracell Reachargeable Accu NiMH, 1800mAh, AA & AAA.

I ran across this in a catalog. No, this is not the same deal as being described in this thread.

These are from Newark:
Duracell AA: 89C4355
Duracell AAA: 89C4356

It would be pretty hard to find a better vendor in my mind.

The link above is just to Newark's home page. This is a search results page that has both AA and AAA products listed. There really aren't any pictures on their website, but their catalog does have pictures. I would scan it in, but I don't have a place to store it right now. These are shown as white wrappings, Duracell's name, the yellow Rechargeable Accu wording, and a green swipe under that. There is also specification info written on them. Pretty nice looking, but maybe not as eye catching as the BYDUSA green ones.

Want to know the really great part?? Click on the price link on Newark's website and it will show the quantity breaks you get. Ah heck, here it is:

Order.............List Price
Quantity.......AA...........AAA
1 to 9..........(.772).......(.50)
10 to 24......(.695).......(.475)
25 to 49......(.625).......(.45)
50 to 99......(.563).......(.405)
100+..........(.508).......(.345)

I am not so sure about the AAA prices, but the price for the AA is just smoking!! (I think I noted someone in the other thread I linked above saying that they got 60 batteries for $50+ dollars. At this price you could get a hundred batteries for $50+!! Ergo the bold type.)

As for other charges: it looks like they add on a $5 handling charge for orders less than $25. (At least that is what I found when just updating quantities and watching the result; it is right there in the shopping cart window.) As for shipping I can't provide that information; I didn't go through all of the hassle of filling out the credit card info. (I am not going to be buying any as I just got in on the BYDUSA 'deal' a few weeks ago, darn it all.)

That's all.

AH! I just ordered a bunch (100+) from MCM and they already shipped (fri). Damn it, I *knew* this was going to happen. Maybe newark will have limited stock, run out quick, and therefore I'll know I had no chance of getting 'em? Ha! Just my luck.

Oh well, MCM's are/were still a good price compared to 99% of other places, just no longer HOT though -- if this deal holds up. Looks good.

Thanks, and in all good spirits, damn you!

Well, then I be damned again.

Even with all the readers on here, I imagine that their stock will hold up for a little while at least. I think I saw their quantity available at 30,000+ for the AA. Only about 8400+ I think for the AAA, though.

Oddly enough Newark even has the MCM deal on their website. I hadn't noticed that earlier.

40 AA's gets rid of the handling charge, but what is the shipping charge and why do they want to tax an order shipped to Florida. I went through the motions and when I got to the submit order screen it still showed that there would be tax and shipping on the order, but didn't state the tax or shipping amount.

Just talked to a CSR of Newark, he said the shipping charge is unknown by him too, probably around $10.

Digitalresource.com tested most of the rechargeable AA mAh batteries in exhaustive testing . Duracell isn't even listed. LINK

Got in on this deal in Dec. Bought 50 AAs and 10 AAA for about $53 shipped to my door. These are EXTREMELY well made cells and last a LONG time. Highly recommended ...

If you go through the order process at MCM far enough to get to their secure site, look at
the details of their secure server certificate and you'll see "Newark" in there. It seems
that MCM is a (well concealed) web outlet for Newark.

sorry, no review. It's just a life test. It doesn't really matter because according to Jclose's link, these are the same batteries from the MCM thread and we already know they're good batteries.

I have got some of these dynacharger (so-called duracell ) batteries. Frankly speaking, they are craps. I used 900mA charge current to charge them and suddenly found 50% of batteries leaking and dirt my charger. later on, I compared them with my panasonic 1300maH AA. I was so disappointed to find dynacharge even take less pictures than those panasonic 1300mAH.

So I guess such batteries are some dumping stuff. (that's the reason they only provide 7 days warranty) ...I will keep away.

900mA seems like a lot even for a fast charge? Is it a NiMH Charger? Hopefully not something you built yourself...

I just charged up a batch I bought @ MCM and so far they seem to be fine. Mostly in slow chargers though. One fast charger (a cheap 'vanson' brand one) they got a bit hot in, might stop using that one, not really fast as far as time goes anyway (8hrs!).
