Hello, I recently had a problem where my heatsink rentention piece broke and I had to replace it. To do that I removed my mobo and basically reasembled everything. Afterdoing so I was able to boot my PC and everything seemed fine. On first boot windows didn't recognize anything that was conected to the Promise Raid controller on my Gigabyte Mobo (GA-8PE667 Ultra) and asked to install the drives. I downloaded the latest drivers from Gigabyte and installed them and everything seemed to work fine... until I tried to burn a CD. When I burn a CD(Nero) my computer slows down to a crawl. The CD will eventually finish burning but everything else is slow. I can't even talk on AIM during a CD burn, the sounds that aim makes are slow and filled with snaps the same is for any mp3's I try playing... however once the CD is done burning everything is fine. I have run a defrag, reinstalled the audio drivers, reinstalled the promise raid controller ATA drivers (since I am using only CD drives off the promise I dont use the RAID). I ran a virus scanner and found the virus, Trojan.ByteVerify and Norton Automatically deleted it. My system stats are below:
