just got a 1 ghz Duron, runs stable at 10X138= 1380 mhz at default voltage! Probably go higher with better, DDR memory than my PNY133 SDRAM

Good price. It's the OEM version, so you will need a heatsink, fan, and thermal paste or pad. Plus, I assume it doesn't come with the same warranty as the retail version. But, since the retail version is $22 more, you will have at least $22 extra to spend on cooling if you don't already own what you need, and for $22 you can do much better than the retail HS/F.

Now it's 34 + 6.95 = $40.95

Still not shabby -- I just think that newegg is trying to emulate department stores: cost = $10; "Normal" price = $40; "Special 50% Off Sale!" Price = $20. Inflate the price in one place and deflate it elsewhere <shrug>

Actually I ordered one a few weeks ago for an even $40 with free shipping. This is definately hot if you are ordering more than one item (and save on shipping), but it's cooler than it has been if you order just the processor.

Here's the shipping charge for a mobo. $8

Now if i update it to 3, shipping is $24. WOW! Now try that along with other products LOL

Newegg operates on slim profit margins to bring great deals to computer geeks like ourselves. They do make some money on shipping but what more could you ask for when you have neweggs great customer service? You cannot operate a business and not make money because you will go under. Shipping is really not that outrageous at all. They have to pay people to package all of your stuff (they know how to package great btw) and for all the boxes and bubble wrap along with keeping their facilities up to par. Back off newegg and stop crappin!!!

I took your "challenge", and guess what...I did. I did it with crucial memory. Three sticks ordered together were cheaper to ship than ordering one, three seperate times. This was my first try from your "challenge". This is because newegg ships based on several factors. One of these factors is weight. I have found if you add light items to other orders, the added shipping can be much less than placing seperate orders. It's been commented on several times before, and my experiences with Newegg and shipping have proven this to be true. Sometimes, I have actually saved on shipping, and the products come in different packages anyway.

Kroze you should have checked a little better before you quote someone to disprove his statement. Also, if you took the time to read my post carefully I put "and save on shipping" in parentheses making it a caviot, not a gaurantee. Besides....I checked the 1 gig duron processor, and it's $40 free shipping again. So, this deal just got a bit hotter since there are no shipping charges.
