Duron 955 + o/c 64MB GeForce2 GTS scoring like crap in 3DMark 2001 (1745 3DMarks) *UPDATE* Up to 3090 now :)

I've been out of the loop for about a week, and just got a chance now to run 3DMark 2001. But my score is an unbelievably low 1745 using the default benchmark setting. I made sure that FSAA wasn't enabled in the advanced properties tab just to be sure:

Are you sure you're running the default bench (with texture compression enabled). Keep in mind that scores in 2001 are much lower than in the 2000 version. You should still be getting more than that. I get ~2900 with:

900mhz Athlon slot-A
384MB pc133ram
32Meg Geforce2 GTS
using the 10.80 drivers and Via 4.29

You might want to try the detonators 11.00.

I got 2193 in Win2k with the 10.80's. I just ran the test again in WinME with the 11.00 drivers, and I got 2584!

Athlon 700, 512mb pc133, msi starforce 815 geforce2 gts.

Scores are lower in win2k (by about 300 to 400 points) but 1745 is still too low for your system.

Well could it be the RAID? I'm looking at the system rigs in this thread, and the ones saying they got higher scores don't seem to have RAID. NFS4 and RGN do, and they're scores should be higher.

BTW when I run the default benchmark, Game 4 and the EMBM tests do not run, and it says it can't give me a score. Does 2001 work the same as 2000, where only the game tests count towards the score, and the theoretical tests don't count?

i'm getting way higher than that w/ a geforce SDR...something's wrong...

seems like u have everythign installed fine...whey don't u try installing the officially released reference drivers (6.50) and re-run it...just for the hell of it...

i can't think of anything else...

u have to have DX8 to run it, it automatically disables sound, etc....default settigns should be 1024x768, 32-bit, compression, AA off, 24-bit Z buffer....

also, even if u have FSAA on (forced) in your drivers they don't work in 3dmark, not on my system anwyay...turn off anisotropic filtering and other performance degrading options...

hmm, i had the 6.5's, and my score was 2324 or something like that. i update to the 10.80's, and my score drops to 1800 something. this is just fricken dandy, now i'm going to have to go driver searching. maybe you should try the 6.5's.

have you tried the 7.xx series drivers? i use win2k and i find that the 7.xx drivers and dx8 are a good combo. i tried the 10.80 and had a performance drop (didn't try them with 3dmark 2001). i use the 7.17's and a lot of people say the 7.52's are fast. give them a shot if you haven't already

OK try running the older 3Dmark2000 benchmark and see how that compares to your previous (3D2k) results
If there is something wrong it should show up in that benchmark too.

Maybe you just have a bad install/download of 3DMark2001?

If it plays your games fine then I wouldn't worry about a "number"
