Duron OCing

What was the highest spped anyone got their Duron to? And waht were the clock/FSB/Voltage settings? I have a Duron 750 and want to know what a safe range is.

It is going to vary depending on mobo, ram and other system specs. The best way is to just test it by bumping up the FSB settings by small increments. Then you can play around with VCORE voltage settings. Its all about experimenting. Do not try doing a massive OC right off the bat. Slowly increment the FSB settings until it is unstable.

I have a Duron 600 @ 963 (9x107) with 1.91V. I just kept bumping it up till it wouldn't post then ran some games and kept lowering it till it was stable. It's an OLD duron too. I've had it for over a year and a half.

Most Duron (Splitfire) had the average limit of 900-950 Mhz. U could do the pencil trick to unlock the CPU & run 9.0 X 100 FSB on KT133 mobo or 7.0 X 133 FSB on mobo tht support 133 FSB. Vcore should be set to 1.7v-1.75v.

I have a Duron 750 currently running at 1050, I've gotten it to post at just under 1.2. I run an EPoX 8KHA+ with 140 MHZ FSBx7.5 at 1.6 volts. Would you mind telling us the stepping code on your cpu? That has quite a bit to do with the overclockability.

I tested it on my board and got it to run Prime 95 for three or four hours at 1133MHz at 2.12v. I have never seen a Duron this strong before, I will have to pull the heatsink off and check the stepping, I never really looked.

I'm using an SK-6 with a 38 CFM delta.

Nice OC there. I'm gonna guess your stepping is ANCA.

I can run my old 600MHz Duron @1GHz using 1.9v, 1.08GHz requires 2.2v (ouch). It's normal to get about 1GHz with the old Durons.

Hi~

I ran a 750Duron for 7month. 750@936 or 927 in an Abit board. I ran it at 1.775Vcore.
For cooler go with an Globalwin WBK68 or FOP68 (that's the one I used back then).
Decent cooling and low noise.

I just got a Duron 800 and use a PAL6035 w/ radio shack stuff and I only hit between 933 and 966 stable 1.85v

damn, all you guys are using < 800 chips and getting better overclocks

36 Deg. C full load, SK6. 1.85 V.
AKBA Stepping.
Doesn't seem to be stable any higher than this.
