DVD Burner problems

Hi i just got a DVD burner and im trying to use DVD Decrypter to backup my DVDs but it keeps giving me the following error.

I/O Error!

It was working i was watching my pantera DVD earlier then decided to back it up ..half way through it cant read so i stoped it..went to try again and got that error, now i cant even play the damn thing in power DVD anymore.

Think my drive died? after 15mins of use???? wtf

Update, shut pc down and booted it up again, got half way through a backup with DVD X Copy (these are all legit dvds i own im trying) and it stoped half way and the drive makes a weird vibrating sound that happens in pulses...weird stuff

I noticed I get similar errors with my Pioneer 120S, but my Pioneer 106S reads them no problem....back to the 106S it is!!!

My lite-on 411S was making some weird noises at first power on for a while, although the drive worked
just fine in windows.
It was just annoying, so i went to Lite-on's website and downloaded the newest firmware for my drive.
I flashed it and rebooted.....and ever since, no more noise!
So i suggest you download their newest bios (even if yours is the newest) and reflash your drive.

What kind of media are you using? I've noticed lately that some disks (both CD and DVD) will make an odd noise like that, but putting it into another drive will alleviate that problem.

Also, are you able to just burn a data DVD (yes, I know that you're trying movies)? It seems to me that the recording of movies is very data intensive as opposed to copying a bunch of data to a DVD.
