DVD Copy Question

One of my fav bands, Funeral For A Friend, put out a DVD. They are a UK band, and the DVD was only put out there, and it's Region 2. I bought it from amazon.co.uk, but I cannot play it in my DVD Player here. I use a program to remove the region coding so I can watch it in my computer, but when I copy the DVD, the copied DVD still won't play in my home theatre DVD Player cause of the Region 2 code.

I was wondering if there is software that not only removes the regional coding on the source disc, but also doesn't allow it to be copied onto the copy disc.

Any ideas?

It is most likely PAL format. You won't be able to play it on your dvd player as it is now, and it will take a good amount of elbow grease to convert it to NTSC.

If you copy the DVD with DVDShrink, there is an option to remove regional coding, but like styrafoam said you still won't be able to play it if your player does not support PAL. It will play but the video will be distorted. There are a number of easily hackable set top players out there that support PAL. I have a Toshiba 4900 that will play any region and supports PAL. The Philips 642 is also a popular multi-region player; there's a long thread at FatWallet about this player
