Question DVD - DisplayPort cables work both ways?

All the cables I can find are advertised as "from DisplayPort to DVI". I need to go the other way, from a DVI port (on the video card) to a DisplayPort (on the monitor). Do these cables work in both directions?
I should mention, I don't need extreme resolution/refreshrate, just 1920x1200 @60Hz.

No, unlike DVI-to-hdmi cables, dp-to-dvi, I don't believe is reversable.

To go DVI to Displayport, you always have to have a physical adapter like this one.

So the easiest (and cheapest) solution would be to get a DVI <-> HDMI cable (the monitor also has HDMI input) as those are reversible, right?

Here's the GPU: a Quadro K620

I need to connect two monitors. One is easy: DP-DP, but for the second I need to use the DVI port. Since the monitor doesn't have a DVI input (Dell U2415), I'll have to get a DVI-HDMI cable.
Another crazy idea would be to go to the first monitor using a good DP cable, and daisy chain to the second since the monitors have DP out. Question is: does the K620 support this?

As far as I know, the K620 does support daisy chain connections via Displayport 1.2. How well that support will work depends on the OS and video card drivers.

You could also use a 1-to-2 Displayport splitter (the Displayport on the card should support up to 4 displays at your resolution using this method) but they tend to be expensive even for just a 1 to 2 splitter.

Finally, a passive DVI to HDMI cable would also work as DVI and HDMI are pin compatible (which is why you can reverse DVI to HDMI cables). You can even get sound over such a connection IF the video card supports it.

All in all, it just depends on what cables you have laying around or have quickest access to.
