DVD DRIVE AUTOPLAY QUESTION, PLEASE HELP

I have a problem with my DVD/CD drive. When I used to put a CD or DVD in the drive it would start on its own and play. Now for whatever reason it doesn't do that anymore. I hear it spool up and that's it. I can get it to play but I have to go to My Computer select the drive which opens up what's on the DVD or CD than I can select what I want to play and Windows Media Player plays it.

I already checked to see if AutoPlay was enabled under the drive's properties and it is. I have no clue why it's doing this. Any help would be deeply appreciated. Thank you.

Just a thought, but you might be able to download Microsoft's Tweak UI (Google 'Tweak UI'), install it, and try to reset the autoplay settings. That might just work by tripping something that was otherwise screwed up in the registry.

Thanks, I may give that a try but I'm hesitant to throw another variable into the mix. Does anyone else have any other suggestions I might try?

If you don't want to grab an app that will reset the autoplay settings for you (as suggested above) then go reset them manually in the registry.
