Since everyone is getting DVD burners now I thought this would be a good idea.

Target

Memorex Brand 3 pack DVD+RW 24.99 (this is price on website, B&M had them for 27.99)
Memorex Brand 3 pack DVD+R 12.95 (this is price on website, B&M had them for 19.99)

I only posted +R/+RW because that is the media my HP uses. The memorex dvds (both types) have worked fine for data storage, I have not tried any other formats i.e. video, audio.

Does Sam's sell blank DVD's?

Meritline is a good cheap source for DVD-r and +r. They have a cool sampler pack of their media so you can try 'em out and see what works in your set-top player or Xbox or PS2. There is occasionally coupon codes floating around too.

I order the Ritek General Purpose dvd-r discs (silver top/purple die) from supermediastore. I haven't had any issue with them. They work in all the set tops I've tried them in and my Xbox. I don't know how the prices compare as I haven't done any comparisons lately. I pay roughly $1.30 per disk after shipping (for 50).

I have gotten two different shipments from Media and ordered the ACCU disks which have turned out to be Riteks and Lead D. ATA which both burn at 2x speed with the Pioneer hack. They cost me $.84 each shipped for 100.

Anyone seen a place that sells the Riteks with the copper/amber dye layer instead of purple? They get sold under the CompUSA label and work great. They seem to work in everything. I haven't seen a bulk place selling them.

BJ's Wholesale Club (if you are a member)has 5-packs of Fuji DVD-R for $13.99. They are made in Japan (T-Y)and are of the same quality as Pioneer brand media and the like.

I just want to caution you all.Meritline and Media ,are the SAME seller! Reseller ratings are very low,and if you search deja,you'll find many people posting complaints!

I only ordered a 10pack so far at about $1 per disc. They came labeled and in cases. As for the bulk spindles, I think they do come labeled, like most of the "branded" CD-Rs.

Rima sells DVD+R for $2.20 per disk (10-pack).
It is a good vendor; I bought from them a couple months ago and I was very satisfied.

Allmediaoutlet (Allmedia Outlet) has spindles of Princo DVD-R's for as low as $0.59/each, free shipping on some spindles. I just ordered one of their combos the other day, 25-pack spindle of Princo DVD-R's + 25 DVD Cases for $27.50/shipped. That's $0.75/disc and $0.35/case! Much cheaper than going down to my BustBuy and paying $3-$4/disc. I got a UPS tracking order within 12 hours of ordering, very nice sofar, should get the order tomorrow or Thursday.

Ordered from AllMedia on Wednesday night, received my DVD-R's today (Friday). Everything went like clockwork - placed order, got confirm email, got UPS notification email, received goods. Haven't actually tried the DVD-R's yet though.

princos do not burn 1x.
It actually affects your laser also.
I don't recommend princos at all.

Go for TDKs or Verbatim dvd-rs
If you search pricewatch, you can get them around 3 dollars
(includes jewel case)

YesBuy.net has some good prices on DVD media, and offer free shipping on 25/50/100 bulk packs ... but their customer service sucks ! Once placed an order with them and called them next day to ask a question ... the CSR was the most rude person I have ever spoken to :disgust:

I'll gladly pay a little bit more to buy from a place that knows how to treat a customer properly ...

How do these burn at 2x with the hacked pioneer firmware? Has your friend tried them out at all or just 1x. I hear most of the Riteks will burn
great at 2x and people are having absolutely no problems then you hear the other half of the story with people having nothing but trouble and
skipping at the end of a dvd when using 2x on these.
