dvd performance

Hi, I just got a Pioneer DVD-115GA, and I have been searching for a good software dvd player. I have Xing, but it keep crashing, and I have power DVD but the image is SLIGHTLY jerky, and if you listen to the dvd on headphonme, the audio is bad, you can hear this highpitched scrathing going on when it's quiet of silent, and it's just not clear audio. So I am asking, how do I optimise my performance, speed up transfer or anything,like that.

The dvd has a whole IDE channel to itself, (Secondary & master) and I have DMA enabled.
I have also searcged for info at 7thzone.com, digital-digest.com dvd.box.sk and a few other places from neworder.box.sk

also, what the best software decoder, and is there any sure way to get rid of the squeeks?

IMO the best one is PowerDVD 2.5.5, but many people have had good luck with WinDVD and Cinemaster too. You should be able to find both of these at the sites you mentioned.

What is your system spec, and what version of PowerDVD did you use. Cuz I also own a Pioneer DVD and use PowerDVD. Have no problem with it.

I ahve PowerDVD 2.0, thats'w what came with my drive, it skips a little but thats cause a K6-2 350 can't really keep up. It does fine, but I heard that Cinemaster is better.
