DVD Playback Problem

Are pioneer DVD's very sensitive to any defects on a DVD? I ask this because my gladiator DVD has a few tiny spots on it and when I use my DVD on my computer to play it (using PowerDVD 3.0) it comes up with errors when trying to play certain parts of the DVD, it says the dvd needs to be cleaned or checked. I have cleaned it so I know if there are any problems, it is on the surface of the disc. The reason I ask if they are sensitive is because I was just trying it in a DVD player in our entertainment center and it played everything fine with no problems. Am I just going to have to not play it in my DVD on my computer if I want to watch the whole thing? Could it be the software?

Have you tried using other software? Is DMA enabled for the drive?

Spots or cracks? if their SPOTS, theres not much a dvd player can do..

Yes DMA should still be enabled (unless some app or something turned it off) When I said I tried cleaning the disk, all I did was use a clean lint-free cloth and gently wipe from the inside out, but it did not remove the spots. I was just looking at the disk, and the spots that I am talking about are very tiny and cannot be seen unless the disk is held at a certain angle to catch the light. I guess I should get some alcohol to try cleaning the disk, I was too chicken to do it before, I do not want to mess up the movie. Is rubbing alcohol ok to use?
