Ok, Got my 100 Today, and using DVD Identifier

It is showing me this:
Disc Type: DVD-R
Manufacturer ID: Not Present On Disc
Recording Speeds: 1x - 2x - 4x

How can I tell what kind of media this is?

Edit: This is on a Lite-on 451s hacked to 851s

Edit #2 Just burned Clerks at 4x (DVD-R) and did a Read-Error test in DVDINFOPro, and came back 100% clean. I am very happy with my 100 *MYSTERY* Discs!

I then tried using my BTC 1008, and got a sucessful burn. But DVDInfoPro found beaucoup errors when I attempted to read it back.

I just applied for an RMA at the Shop4Tech web site.

DvdInfoPro, DVDIdentifier, and DVDDecryptor all agree that there is no media ID on these discs.

Please let us know how the rma goes
thank's

How much did you guys paid for this? I just ordered 100pk and paid $34.20. It was $38 but I entered the 10% coupon. EASTER10 is the code. Hopefully worked at 4X with my NEC ND-2500A ...

Got 100 of these and and they are Yi Jhan. In the shiny ring it says DVD-R 4X YJ followed by some numbers. Burn fine at 4x on my NEC ND-2500A.

Haven't noticed any scratches or dye markings yet. *knock on wood*

Both spindles of 100 that I bought (ordered and shipped separately) have looked identical and have a star on the center spindle. Everyone else's looking like this?

So far I've still had zero problems.

Got my 100 pack yesterday.

Opened the box to find the pack bubble wrapped, but the spindle was sheared off at the base of the case and the cover was not attached to the base. My first thoughts were that the disks were going to be scratched up. As I moved them to a couple of empty 50 pack cases, I counted and did a visual inspection of each disk. I was surprised to find that none of them were scratched, but 2 of them had some funny dye line marks on them.

I burned a full disk with my Pioneer 105 and Nero 6 at 4x with no problems. DVD info could not find any errors. The disk are the
Yi Jhan 001.

I feel lucky that my Pioneer has never burned a coaster(Ha Ha you NEC owners).

They burn fine on my NEC 1300A so far. Will order again when I am through this 100-pack but it will take a long time.

ok guys my 100 pack just came in right now.. im inspecting them as we speak... i put one in to try a test burn.. and dvd decrypter showst his info..

DVDRW IDE1008 0054
Current Profile: DVD-R

Disc Information:
Status: Empty
Erasable: No
Free Sectors: 2,298,496
Free Space: 4,707,319,808 bytes
Free Time: 510:48:46 (MM:SS:FF)
Supported Write Speeds: 2x, 4x

Pre-recorded Information:
Manufacturer ID: Yi Jhan 001

Physical Format Information (Last Recorded):
Book Type: DVD-R
Part Version: 5
Disc Size: 120mm
Maximum Read Rate: Not Specified
Number of Layers: 1
Track Path: Parallel Track Path (PTP)
Linear Density: 0.267 um/bit
Track Density: 0.74 um/track

the discs have no scratches and seem fine to me.. although i saw one with the dye a lil smeared.. it came in a nice 100 pack spindle.. and bubble wrapped.. the surface of the discs has a nice smooth white (for printing i guess) coat.. i use to purchase the CHEAP GQ dvd-rs at fry's.. which had a rough printing surface.. this one is definitely much smoother.. not important but something i prefer.. not to mention this was cheaper than the fry's GQ DVDrs. and it lets me burn at 4x..

i will now do a few test burns.. i will reply again once i finished..

So it's Yi Jhan 001 good? Is it the same as LONGTEN001? I see many people get the LONGTEN001. Newer stock carries a Yi Jhan001? How are the review on Yi Jhan 001? LONGTEN001 seems to be a good one. Anyone using NEC ND2500A with Yi Jhan 001?? Quality???

I just burned a 3.6 GB movie on a disk with blemishes with a Pioneer 104 and it verified successfully and passed without any errors in the read test in DVDInfo. It also seems to play fine on my old dvd player.

Edit: It's Yi Jhan 001

The 1500 that I am sitting on are the LONGTEN001 with the white star in the center ring.

I placed an order monday for these for 100 of them, just to see if I would get different media, and i got the LONGTEN001 media. They must just be grabbing from a pile of them or something.

I have burnt only 3 coasters with my NEC 1300A, and that was my fault.

I wish they would send me some of these other discs that you folks are getting, I would be interested in trying them out.

Its funny i burned a dvd and it will maybe skip or freeze every 10minutes on my computer using powerdvd but on my standalone the disc plays flawlessly. Any comments?

Also even if these things have errors are people still burning these flawlessly

i have burned 3 of these discs just since i got em yesterday.. burned flawlessly on my btc 1008.. burned 2 of em at 2x.. and 1 at 4x.. they all played fine on my standalones.. an apex 1200 and a terapin dvd player.. the apex played them smoothly no skips or hiccups.. however the terapin would skip a few seconds until it would get goin and everything was fine.. both did not play on my ps2 with old laser..

I ordered 100 discs on the 7th, recieved on the 13th. They're Ji Yhan 001 or whatever, but I've had NO problem burning at 4x on my Pioneer A05. PS2 backups are all I've burnt so far, but every one works perfectly, and all pass a verify check when burning. I'm very happy so far!
