After somemore testing with the disc I found that it works better with my TDK burner (hell time with my Lite-on 411s). Just a FYI if you had a Lite-on think twice before buying these.

I agree on my last order, but for some reason my recent order was weird. I'm in N. Cali and they are in So Cal and last time it took 3 days. This time for some reason my shipment was odd and it went to Jersey.

Apr 25, 2004 9:59 A.M. PARSIPPANY, NJ, US ARRIVAL SCAN

Took 13 days for it to arrive, but I can't blame it on them. They have no control on how UPS routes their packages.

UPDATED

Ordered my First batch of these disks!
Have burned 50 disks in 2 days.

My disks have the white star on them
here is the disk info:
Manufacturer Maybe = Longten Tech. Co., Ltd.
SMART-BURN Speed Limit = 4.0X (Write)

I have a liteon 811s burner.

No coasters yet!

UPDATE!

2 bad disks. They burned fine, no errors, but it freezes up on my Sony ns325 dvd player.

ALOT more than 2 bad disks. I am finally getting to watching my movies. And MOST of them have errors. Alot of screen freezes. Skips, and cant finish the movie.

I wont be buying these disks anymore... You get what you pay for...

Here's what I do with my Lite-On 811s:
Set your burn speed back to 2X and select the validate option for every burn. Leave a little room at the end of the DVD because that is where 90% of the bad blocks occur. I stick a couple of trailers, deleted scenes or other features at the end of my DVD movie rips.
If you forget to validate, run the Nero CDSpeed utility (or comparable like DVDInfo) and do a surface scan. Mark the DVD's that fail validation or have bad blocks per the scan so you can give them to friends and relatives. I've found that depending on the DVD player used, most of my 2X burns that fail validation or have bad blocks still play fine, you just can't copy them. Perfect gifts for the technically challenged.
I'm about half way through my first 100 batch of these disks and I get about 1 in 5 with validate and/or bad block errors. Like you, my first couple of burns were at 4X without any errors and I made the mistake of thinking they would all burn at 4X.

I appreciate the feedback...

I would rather not mess around.

What would everyone recommend on a GOOD/HIGH quality DVD +R preferred, 4x-8x disk. For the liteon 811s.
What is the best media for this burner?

I just want to burn at at least 4x for a GOOD price.

Oh hell, I really hope they didn't go to AN31 media........... that is the ULTIMATE in crap media. I threw away 300 of them because none of them would work. If you got AN31 media, I would definately call them and ask them for a refund, unless they could promise you LONGTEN001 media as an exchange.

I burned three disks (white star) with NEC 1300A and they all failed. Updated firmware from 1.05 to 1.0A and burned half a dozen since with no coasters.

Bought a 100 Pack. Tons and Tons of errors on these things. Biggest waste of money.
Not worth a dollar for a 100 of them in my opinion. highly visual flaws and defects in the media.

I got longten 6x discs. I switched the firmware over to v1.06 on my NEC2500a and had no problems whatsoever. I am 10 for 10 after switching my firmware.

I dont know if its been mentioned, but the shipping time on this was not bad at all for free shipping. I got my order exactly a week after I placed it. Which isnt bad considering they came from Canada.

I would buy more of these discs without hesitation.

Gonna have to discourage these. Went through a 100pk and now finally starting to go through my movies. Getting random errors, data corruption when reading as PC ISO. When playing on my DVD Player, it'll lock up at certain points. This has also been happening for friends to. For cheap media, I'm going to stick with the CompUSA Princo's when they are going for ~$.40-.50 a disc on sale instead of these. Not a problem when using those.

Errors have a lot to do with the readers. I have a Panasonic RV30 dvd player in my room and it does not like this media, random glitches. My parents have a Toshiba 5 Disc Changer, my friend's PS2, and my friends 1st Generation RCA dvd player all work flawlessly. So i guess YMMV on this media
