Best Buy is offering Fuji brand DVD media for 50% off their regular

markdown and a SMALL rebate, and BB rebates usually come through, so
this isn't a bad deal.

Go to the BestBuy website, and search for "Fuji DVD-R" or "Fuji
DVD+R"

Example:

Fuji 100-Pack 4x DVD-R Disc Spindle, Model: 25302100
Regular Price: $190.00
Instant Discount: $80.00
Sale Price: $110.00
Mail In Rebate: $15.00
Net price after rebate: $95.00 (Which is 50% off and LESS than $1/platter) with FREE SHIPPING

Are those Fuji from BestBuy rebadged TAIYO Yudens? I had bad experience with those el cheapo DVD-R discs with either my Pioneer A06 or Plextor 708. The cheapo ones have skipping problems toward the end of movies I burned. OTOH Apple discs (rebadged Pioneer) and Verbatim Data Life Plus are the two best discs I have used at the moment.

I'm looking at those Fuji myself.
Anyone has any idea?
I doubt they will fly off the shelf like free since they are still $1 each and you have to be a whole stack (100 pieces) of them.

BTW, it looks more like $95, not $85.

The Fuji 10 packs have in the past been made in Japan TAIYO discs. $12.49 after the $5 MIR is a decent deal on these.
Edit: available at Best Buy

"Are those Imation's decent?"

Bought some of the Imation 4X +R discs today at OD and they ID'd as RICOHJPNR01 which are the exact same discs as the Memorex +R, Verbatim +R, and TDK +R. Nice deal.

Personally the memorex dvd+-r discs are my favorites and have worked on every dvd player I have tried it on. The fuji film 50 spindle also worked on every dvd player i've tried it on. Some of these dvd players didnt like one or the other brand dvd+-r discs but they all like the memorex and fuji film that I have. So now I stick to memorex and fuji but I go for memorex usually.

I got the Imation -R disks and they are Ritek G03. These are considered primo disks, but the bad for me is they only burn at 2X with my Pioneer 105. I was hoping they were 4X media like the Memorex or Fuji. Oh well, they should be good disks. Imation brand name with Ritek inside. Should be good Ritek for sure.

It seems the buy one get one free will only work on the deal once for officedepot. You can't buy 2 and get 2 free and than use the coupon.

Most people just get which ever one is on sale if they have a dual format burner. There are some threads around that say which manufactors use what discs. RiTek is pretty much considered cream of the crop.

I have used the Fuji 25 Pack DVD+R - They were RICOHJPNR00 and supposedly the Memorex are RICOHJPNR01 (the 01 suffix indicating 4X).

Perhaps this might help

If you review all the DVD+R you will see the Memorex rate near the top!

EDIT: CompUSA shows the Memorex DVD+R out of stock!

Well you didn't mention whether it was -R or +R that you bought, but the UPC didn't match the +R discs I had bought, so I asume you purchased -R discs. One poster had ID'd them as Ritek G03 discs, which are 2X in most burners. Also you can ID them using DVDInfo with just a DVD ROM drive.

That might be just as well, since according to the other forum, with Memorex you stand a chance of getting CMC MAG F01 (which is "crap") and not Ricoh.
