They'd better not. The only way data is lost when written to a disc is if the disc itself starts to go bad, like if the dye layer starts peeling away. Then you lose data, whether it be programs or audio.
As far as the disc is concerned, it's just binary data - music, pictures, video, text. It's all the same stuff.
