DVD drive not detected at boot. I substituted an old cd-rom drive same location, cables and it works fine so definitely dead dvd...
When I open it up ( I'm going in, Jim.) I'm sure I won't find anything obvious like a little smt fuse...maybe a blown cap ? I'm thinking must be fault in the power because it's just so...dead.
Anybody have any luck fixing one of these things, with a suggestion what to look for ???
I have a DMM, and a soldering iron, and RadioShack is just 10 mins away.
