SO recently my Samsung SH-S203 DVD-RW drive (SATA150) has been causing my mouse cursor and the rest of the OS to stutter when I open certain windows such as "My Computer" or if I right click on the properties of that drive. I have had something like this happen before so I went and disabled the drive and the problem went away. (this is running Vista)
However, I'm just wondering if this means that the drive is damaged or if this could be fixed with some kind of driver/firmware change. Could this also be an power issue? I've tried changing the SATA ports around and that didn't really change things. I would rather not have to buy another drive considering I've only had this one for two months.
Any ideas?
EDIT: NVM, turned out to be a issue with the Gigabyte SATA2 controller.
