DVD sound problem :(

i just bought a Toshiba 16X dvd drive. i got windvd as a dvd software for it. my problem is the sound sounds realy bad. its like choppy and poor. i tried installin directX8 or DirectX8a but it didnt help. what i think the problem is, is that it slows down the processor or takes alot of system resources (due to too much graphics?) so the sound comes out bad? but the pictures is fine. i mean i have a 1 gig processor , 384 MB ram and TNT2 Viper 32mb video card? what could be the problem? please help.

DMA = Direct Memory Access.

To enable, install the VIA 4in1 drivers for your motherboard chipset. Then locate the DVD drive in your System properties. There should be a check box that says "DMA". Check that box.

is the DMA thru the BIOS or WIn98 ?

DMA is provided through hard-wired device, BIOS, and drive controller support. It is supported via OS-level drivers for the drive controller and/or the device. You "enable" DMA by installing Ultra DMA drivers for your drive controller (like the Via 4 in 1 drivers) and enable it for the device within your operating system. Follow the directions I posted and you should be fine.

non of that worked.
here what it seems happens to the system. it seems that once i load up windvd the whole system slows down. i check the system resources and its realy low. and when i scroll up and down for example a webpage or anything else, it scrolls realy slow. so it looks like its takin system resources i dunno what else i can do. i still need help
