I have a newbie question about this software. I used dvddecrypter to rip the files to my hard drive. Then I used DVD2one and I had a VIDEO_TS folder with 9 files inside. How do I burn these files using Recordnow? I would think it would be an image file but there is more than 1 file.

Any help is appreciated.

PM are welcome as well.

A DVD has to have the VIDEO_TS directory so burn that complete folder to the DVD. AUDIO_TS is on most DVD's too and is often empty so it won't hurt to put that folder on the dvd for compatability.

is this app make an exact copy whenever it's a dvd9, where the main video track and the main audio already will fit?

i won't suffer crap reencode, but this may be perfect if it doesnt muck up the copies when it doesnt have to.

better delete that post, you just admitted to a felony punishable by a $250,000 fine and/or up to six months in prison.

perhaps if you actually read what you are quoting you would know that it states that there is UP to a $250,000 fine and or prison time, lol.. if they fined everyone who copied a movie $250,000 then there wouldn't be a government deficit

Nope, as others have said... with longer movies some compression is seen, so it seems that it does not remove frames. That is what I first thought too...
Then how the f*ck does it compress so fast?

It won't make an exact copy, as in menus, extras, etc., but there will be no compression so the copy will have the same quality as the original.

Another question:

...If I buy this program, and copy my dvd with it for backup purposes... now that I've got that out of the way..

I got my backup for the kids, and now want one for the car; can I skip the [dvd-decrypt | dvd2one] step and do a 1:1 copy of the backup?

Thanks

Killer program, works great. From original to backup in less than an hour and I can't tell the difference.

This could be very nice for making those backups to take in the car, on vacation, family borrowing discs, etc. I didn't pay that much for my DVD collection (~$8-9 per disc), but I can't replace many that I purchased as cheaply as I did. It doesn't matter what people say, they are never as good to my discs as I am. This way, I can make a copy for about $1 and not have all the menus to go through (great for disney dvds with 2 aspect ratios). Put the disc in and go with it. If someone messes it up or it gets left in a hot car...not a big deal.

Anyone happen to know whether a DVD with only the Dobly digital digital sound track will play on a regular TV (I know not in 5.1 format)? I just wonder if you could hear the movie or if you have to have the 2 channel track on it also.

You would still need two discs.

Hmmmm, you'd be wrong.

Please expand on your statement if you disagree..... with specifics.

If you screw up the math, you're going to have a file that is too big to burn to a DVD by like 30megs. (It happens). This program does all of that in 20-25 minutes and always spits out a DVD that is 4.3 gigs. So it's always going to fit on one disc. 8 hours down to 20 minutes. That's incredible.

Not true at all...once you go over 2500 bitrate...CCE does a beautiful job with CBR. It'll take probably just a tad more time than dvd2one. I'll test it out. It took 30 mins dvd2one to do Pete's Dragon on my P4 2.53Ghz (cce is cpu and dvd2one I'm guessing is more hd speed related than cpu). Regardless...if CCE takes 60 mins then it's worth the extra time to get quality. For the masses though (sames ones who were making vcd's rather than svcds two years ago) then dvd2one was made for your eyes only. This isn't saying dvd2one doesn't have potential..it has huge potential if it can minimize those macroblocks and background shifting in NTSC movies.

2channel is more often than not directory's commentary/ foreign language..5.1 can be played albeit in stereo if you don't have a 5.1 sound setup. No worries. Always ripped the 6 channel.

As others have mentioned, DVD2ONE copies the movie only (no menus, no extras) and FORCES it to fit onto one DVD. Program doesn't give you any options except for the title you want to back up, subtitles and audio track.

Program does an amazing job. I had previously backed up Eyes Wide Shut (8GB per dvddecrypter) using DVD2SVCD, CCE, MAESTRO; this took hours to accomplish and was extremely complicated. IMO, the final results from dvd2one were equal to or better than the CCE route.

Well, I tried this software on two 'PAL' DVD's and the results are quite disappointing. Watching these movies on my 17" PC Monitor is kind of OK but compression artifacts are so visible on my 36" TV (using a standalone DVD player).

Does anyone have similar experience?:|

I do have the full 5.1 setup, but I was interested in this because of loaning the disc out, taking it with me on vacations, and other times there may not be a 5.1 system. I knew a stereo could process it into stereo, but I was hoping the DVD player would be able to send a stereo signal out of the 5.1 source. I hooked up my dvd player through stereo only jacks. Just like I was hoping...the 5.1 DD track plays stereo as well.

Thanks for getting back, and I am posting just to give verification if others are wondering.

I'm going to be using my Info lab points at HP to get the 300i for free, but until then, I've got a question:

Will this burn SVCDs?

How bout 9GB DVD-R/+Rs?
