DVD2ONE, backup any DVD in less than an hour?

this program just simply sick...

the only thing that pisses me off is the subtitles.. i click on it, and after i burned it
the subtitle looks all jacked up on my dvd player.. and i can't turn it off.. argu..
anyone know wat's up with that ?

So did the DVD play on your DVD Player? Can anyone attest to this product's claim?

It's really not appropriate to compare this product to CCE. It does not do the same thing.

CCE compresses video, frame by frame, by encoding into mpeg streams using complex algorithms.

This product reduces video size by effectively reducing your framerate. If you delete a B-frame and replace it with a copy of the prior frame, you've just reduced your bitrate to minimum (2000k) and as long as you spread it out, people probably won't notice unless there was a whole lot of motion just in that spot. Since you're just dropping frames, this pulldown makes it so *any single frame* from the copy will look just as good as *any single frame* from the original. Just not all of the frames are there. It's a transcoder, not an encoder.

How are you guys using RecordNow? I have RecordNow Max 4.5 and I dont' see an icon to create DVD video. Only ones I see are Data cd, Video CD, etc...but no DVD Video. Any insight?

Also, i noticed on circuit citys website that some dvd players just say dvd instead of dvd-r or dvd+r under "formats included". (like the apex ad1200 and the magnavox mdv410sl ) Does this mean i cant watch backed up movies on these players?

That is incorrect. I just tested DVD2One with my Fantasia DVD. The original DVD is 23.976 fps. The new DVD created by DVD2One is also 23.976 fps. From what I can tell, it appears to reduce the file size by recompressing the video at a lower bitrate. The framerate stays the same.

Yes you can preserve subtitles and any audio tracks you want. DVD2One will display a list of all audio tracks and subtitles. You simply check the box next to the tracks you want to keep.

Just got done burning my first DVD-R using my brand spanking new Pioneer A05 (rebadged Cendyne) and it's (We were Soldiers DVD) playing great on my Toshiba K615 standalone. Quality is pretty damned good if I say so myself. Better than DivX which is what I've been watching a lot of lately.

Anyway, burning my copy of Panic Room now.

I think what he meant was it just removes frames, but leaves the rate at 23.97. So 150 frames becomes 140, equally distributed through the whole film. That would be my first thought too, but I'm watching a copied DVD now and I'm noticing NO stuttering at all. Also other people have noted that long films are visually reduced in quality with compressions showing in parts.

I too wonder how exactly the program does it's magic in such a short time. Especially doing such a good job of it.

Program is great for single movies, but not yet too useful (for me) for episodic DVDs with lots of segments.

Is there anyone here who can provide a link to a comprehendable, clearly written tuturorial on how to combine the episodes on a DVD such as Sopraons, Oz, SpongeBob, Simpsons, etc. so that they can be written to a single DVD? That is, pull them off using DVD Decrypter...then what?

There are some tutorials out there that I've found, but they aren't very well written, especially with respect to creating a new .ifo file for the combined video simply and easily. Maybe that can't be done. But the only things I've found have required running IFOedit, then making LOTS of hand edits in the resulting new .ifo file. Surely there must be a simple automated way to make the new .ifo for the combined video? Also, in the VOBedit tutorial that everyone seems to reference, it just isn't clear to me why there are two cases: One for several parts of a video, and one for several parts of a video plus several parts from the B side of a flipper...I don't quite get why you can't use the first method for any number of parts, including those from the B-side of the flipper...

Any help?

burn it as data and drop your VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders in it.

Do u need to put anything in the AUDIO_TS folder? or everything go into VIDEO_TS? thansk
