DVI cable for CRT...is it worth it?

Just purchased the IBM P260 22" CRT monitor (great monitor btw)...it has dual inputs, standard VGA and DVI-A. My video card is the ATI AIW Radeon which also has DVI-I output...my question is should I go out and by an DVI cable or should I just stay with standard VGA? Is the improvement significant? Also what cable should I purchase? Don't know much about DVI but my understanding is that not all cable work with all DVI outputs/inputs. Any advice would be appreciated.

Well, I use a dual input monitor(BNC and VGA), and I use the BNC connectors so that I can have the VGA port free so when I work on another rig I can plug it right in and switch between them. Actually right now, my HDTV card is plugged into the VGA connector until my new display arrives, and that works sweet as well.

As far as IQ, unless your using high resolutions(I'm not familiar with analog DVI however), but I doubt you could tell the difference. I see no difference on my 22" monitor at 1600 X 1200 between VGA or BNC, but having the VGA connector open does come in handy.

Thanks for your input...that's what I thought...I didn't really think it would improve much if any but it is nice to be able to hook up another system simulteously if needed..

I would like to know the result too.

May be you could buy a cable from a big retail store(like bestbuy) and try to compare it side by
side to see if there any differences. If there is not noticeable differences, then just return the cable
to the retail.

Not worth it... i think you'll see a bigger improvement from BNC cables anyway... CRTs are analog... if anything you'll probably lose slight quality from having to switch it from digital to analog again when you didn't have to.
