DVI-I to VGA convertor quality?

After being spoiled at work with a dual monitor setup, I decided to try it out at home. As I didn't need anything too powerful 3d wise, I picked myself up a VisionTek 9200SE ATI based card that has one vga out and one DVI-I out. Anyway, I got it home, hooked it up, and it works fine, except that the fact that the monitor hooked up to the DVI-I (through a dvi to vga convertor) is extremely blurry. I just wanted to know if this was normal or I got a bad card.

I've had my 9700 pro hooked up to 2 crt monitors with one being through the adapter and didn't have any problems. Just my input.

I also found that using the DVI-I/ Analog adaptor also gave a blurry image on my LCD(Sapphire 9700NP and Samsung 191T),the normal VGA input was better.I`m just waiting for my DVI-D cable now so I can ditch the DVI/Analog adaptor.

Mem, a question. How blurry is yours? Mine is so bad that I can hardly read text on it. Is yours that bad or just slightly worse then you vga?

I noticed that there was a bit of blur when using a Foxconn DVI -> VGA adapter as opposed to straight VGA on the same monitor.

ERJ,I would say it`s readable but on a rating from excellent,very good,good and fair ,I would only give it a fair quality rating at best using the DVI/VGA adaptor.

On my Sapphire 9700NP retail it`s very noticeable the difference,infact now I`ll only use the DVI out with my DVI-D cable when it arrives,just not worth the reduction in image quality(have my other CRT using the other VGA out at the moment and yes in native LCD res ,which gives excellent image quality when I put it on the normal VGA out).

Try switching the monitors. see if still blurry.

Update: Just received my Belkin dual link digital only Pro series cable today and using the DVI connection the difference between that and the old DVI/VGA adaptor I was using with my LCD is night and day.

The DVI/VGA adaptor was giving poorer image quality then my CRT on the other VGA connection, now using proper DVI cable with no VGA cable & DVI/VGA adaptor like before, there`s very big difference which means excellent image quality .
