Hi just recently switched from crt monitor to lcd

I bought a xerox xa7-19i lcd; its connected through dvi to my geforce 6800 ultra tdh card and im using latest 81.98 drivers...

Not really a problem ut in specs it clearly states 1280*1024@75 hz i cant get those 75 hz only 60....whats up with that...

And also a thing i havent encountered before i have something like digitl flat panel scaling which is currently set to monitor scaling...

The problem is i dont have any other resolutions i had before like 1152*864 listed

Only 800*600, 1024*768 and 1280*1024....i have a game that i play windowed in 1152*864 so that my window is just slightly smaller than 1280*1024 resolution that i use...

Can someone give me some pointers on the whole lcd - digital flat panel thing on nvidia cards...is it some kind of driver thingy?

Pretty lost when it comes to lcd displays...thnx in advance...

p.s. i did manage to add the custom resolution of 1152*864 to the list of selectable resolutions through nvidiays add custom resolution i just dont get it why it doesnt show that i can use 75 hz on 1280*1024 and why no other resolutions like the one i need as default...is it coz of dvi?

Some tips on color and calibrating dvi lcd also appreciated...

Oh, and btw monitor driver is also installed correctly..(not that it needs it though.)

You should be able to force the 75Hz refresh if you really want to. It makes little difference with LCD monitors, as they do not refresh the same way as CRTs (so a 60Hz refresh doesn't result in headache-inducing flicker). It could be that the monitor is not reporting its supported refresh rates correctly back to the PC. Xerox isn't exactly a high-end name in LCD monitors.

Someone else was complaining the other day about an NVIDIA card only showing their LCD monitor's native resolution (and not any lower ones). Maybe this is what the newer drivers are doing by default? You should be able to add any custom resolutions you want. Not that you would want to use them on the desktop...

And also a thing i havent encountered before i have something like digitl flat panel scaling which is currently set to monitor scaling...

That's the setting for how the selected resolution is scaled. Usually you can choose to either have the video card output the selected resolution, or scale it up to the monitor's native resolution (for those monitors that really, really suck at doing the scaling themselves).
