Current setup
Dell 400SC 2.0 Celeron
Radeon 7000
ATI TV Wonder VE
512mb RAM
Dell 1901FP 19" LCD
I would like to purchase a video card w/ DVI for my new 1901FP LCD. I dont play any video games and I doubt I will in the furure. I do watch DVDs, TV, WMP, and surf the net. I dont wanna spend more then 100 bucks, preferably under 75, on a new video card. Im considering a Radeon 9200 or 9600SE card w/ 128mb RAM made by either Sapphire or Gigabyte. Is this overkill, not enough? Any other video card suggestions? Is the difference between analogue and DVI that much to justify a new video card?
Also to tide me over untill I get a new card im having trouble with my new 1901fp. The colors look oversaturated and just plain looks bad. I doubt the monitor is defective and am thinking I need to tweek one of the video settings. It reminds me of the problem I had with a T41 IBM notebook where the color temperature was set to high but I cant find that adjustment on the 1901FP. Previously I had a samsung 151V LCD running off the same Radeon 7000 and the picture looked great. Any suggestions?
TIA
