DX8 or New NVidia Drivers?

I've read this, and that and have a hankering to fiddle with the pc. I will only change one thing at a time. Which should I mess with first? BTW, I have zero probs with DX7...are there any bugs with DX8? Thanks ever so much.

I have never had a problem upgrading DirectX anything, and 8 is no different.

Well I`m using 6.50 drivers &amp; DirectX8 with no problems so it`s down to you,there are hardly any games that benefit from DirectX8 right now,so you can try new Nvidia drivers then think about DirectX8 afterwards.

Im using DX8 and 6.31

BUT, DX8 screwed over my computer when it installed, made all games crash happy, and it needed a reinstall of windows to get it as stable as it is now

But you can't always uninstall, esp stuff like IE and DX.
