Dymo Rejecting Rebates

I just received a card from dymo rejecting my rebate because it was not postmarked by the right date, Funny I mailed it on the 6th of july and it had to be mailed by the 11th.

yea, those bastards. I didnt notice the 11th postmark date until the other day looking at my copies. I assumed, like all rebates, theres only one deadline. The 26th at the end is what got me.

There is no way that this letter didnt get postmarked for 6 days from when I dropped it off at my postoffice on july 6th.

I always get a proof of mailing when I mail my rebates. It costs $.75 at the PO and has paid off twice (except in the case of CrapUSA who have blatently ripped me off 5 times.). I have gotten the not postmarked by cards twice before. A little photocopy of poof of mailing with a USPS date stamped on it always resolves it.

Is the sky falling? Dymo is not rejecting rebates. I called a few days back to check on it and mine was in the system and good to go.

They rejected yours.

I've gotten "past postmark notices" before, but kind of rare. I just call them, tell them that my records show that I mailed it before the postmark date (which I do) and then the CSR generally just bypasses the reject code and sets it straight.

I've always thought that this type of irresponsible
corporate behavior deserves a class action law suit.

The FTC does have information about what to do with rebate problems, as well as spelling out some of the laws on rebates and how long the company can take before sending a rebate to you.

If the above doesn't have information that helps you resolve the problem, and you have proof in your possession of fulfilling the terms of the rebate (including the mailing date), then you might visit the site below for some additional options. Sometimes, it takes a lot of "complaints" to show to the FTC that there is a "trend" going on with certain companies.

I thought I'm the only received the card! Obviously, they did this ON PURPOSE and try not to honor the rebate!!!

I received the same card from them and with the EXACT SAME REASON! I called them yesterday and I told them I've the a copy of envelope postmarked BEFORE 7/11/01. I printed my postage using Stamps.com so the envelope was postmarked before I really sent it out and I made a copy of the rebate, and the envelope as well.

If you have anything to show them, call them. Even if you don't, try to argue with them. Don't let them get away with this.

If the rebate never arrives or arrives late, file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission, the state Attorney General or the local Better Business Bureau.
Ok, I'll file a complaint with FTC thru the online form. I never filed any complaint with state Attorney General or local BBB. Any clues how to do so? Should I file the complaint with MY LOCAL or DYMO's state Attorney General and BBB?

Exactly same thing happened to me, I received the delayed shipment on 7/2 and mailed the rebate on 7/6, long before the 7/11 expiration date, and I received denial letter saying postmark beyond closing date.

We should do something about this.

For those of you received the same rejection card, I think most of you do not have the proof to show the postmarked date so you'll have hard time arguing with them since you have nothing to proof.

PLEASE file a complaint with FTC. If more people file complaints then FTC might take it seriously.
