At least the vacuum is actually functional.

What the hell will a $300 Dyson do that an $80 Hoover wont?

Fixed.

Easy. It sucks more dirt and cleans better

Yes it does.

You are wrong if you disagree with me.

End of discussion.

Is this the top rated one from Consumer Reports? A lot of the subscriber reviews on CR and customers on the Sears website give it a thumbs down because of some flimsy construction. I guess there is a plastic component that is prone to breaking. Did you find that to be true with yours?

From what i understand, it'll clog less often.

I have a Hoover wind Tunnel that I have to unclog about every other time I use it and have been thinking of getting a Dyson for that reason.

I too have a refurb. I've never regretted it at the refurb price (~$250), not sure I would have paid full price for it.

And yes the difference vs our old worn out vacuum was quite impressive.

I got a DC07 from Target when they were clearancing the exclusive red Target one, $239.99 I think. Pretty good deal, best vacuum I've ever used.

For that price, I'd probably get a Roomba instead.

I spent $20 on my Eureka upright, bought out of a Classified ad. It gets the job done.

$350 vacuum without the optional blow-job attachment, and it's not worth it.
Though I suppose if it makes your wife happy, it might accomplish that anyway.

We don't need no stinking attachment, stick it on and flip the switch.........EUREKA!

People buy into the hype/advertising just like they did with Sharper Image....... and still do with Bose and ScamWow. How often do you see a Hoover or Eureka commercial on tv?

Dyson gets their advertising money from what they charge you suckers that buy the product......... hence MORE COMMERCIALS

To Spidey.......... Have you done your review between a Dyson and the 4870 yet?

everytime i hear Dyson it reminds me of that scientist from Terminator 2. Mile Dyson... i think it was...... for some reason, i associate him as the maker of this vacuum. weird

Vacuums are some of the most annoying things for which to shop. I can't ever get a clear answer on what's decent anymore. The majority of the vacuums out there seem to have horrible reviews.
