Frys has the E2180 and ECS 945GCT-M/1333 combo for $78.99.

Newegg has the board listed at $48.99 minus a $5 rebate, and the processor goes for $88.99 at Newegg as well.

Warm deal?

Well is it a retail CPU or tray? If its tray then you have to fork out more money for cooling

It doesn't say OEM or retail, but I usually find that they only specify when it is OEM.

Sounds hot to me...even if its a tray cpu, you basically get the board for free.

Yes! I've been waiting for this deal. Already have a spare cooler, so I just hope I can OC the e2180 on this board from 200 to at least 266.

I bought for $10 more a week or 2 ago. Turns out it can address 4gigs. My combo didn't specify but it was retail with a hsf. Didn't try any overclock. May try a bsel mod sometime.

supposedly this deal is valid for E2180 or E2200 as per reports at fatwallet. Both are retail and come with the mobo for the same price. Why would one go for the E2180 over E2200? Thanks

shouldn't need bsel mod... this is the "133" version of the board, should be even more solid than the 'v1' version (that officially has to oc to get to 266) that i got last week with the e4500... but i don't bet that there's anything more in the bios on the newer board... no cpu voltage, just up to 1.9v for mem...

Could you post the Item Number of the combo?

I'd like to get the 2200 as well, but I'm not sure how my local Fry's employees would find the combo.

Just called the city of industry store and gave them the item number. Yes, they have the e2200 combo for the same price.

I can think of one reason why you might prefer the E2180 to the E2200 cpu. If you are going to use the BSEL mod to up the FSB to 266 (about the only way to overclock on this motherboard), your chances of success are probably much greater with the E2180.
E2180, 10 x 200 = 2000 mhz. BSEL mod, 10 x 266 = 2660 mhz.
E2200, 11 x 200 = 2200 mhz. BSEL mod, 11 x 266 = 2926 mhz.

The odds of running 2660 mhz at stock voltage are much better than the odds of running 2926 mhz at stock voltage.

Heh, do these ECS boards not allow you to reduce the multiplier at all? Gross...

Got a retail 2200 at the Manhattan Beach Fry's. Guy in front of me in line was asking for the 2180 combo so I introduced myself and handed the sales rep the sku# written down from foofoo's post (much thanks by the way). Price came up same as the 2180, as others have reported. Good stuff.

Going to sell the board and put the chip in my recently purchased Abit P35-E. Gotta love the Hot Deals forum.

I keep buying these frys combos thinking I'll get a better MB and play with overclocking but the damn included motherboard keeps working so well for what I paid I don't ever bother. Its amazing what a cheap cpu/mb can get done if you don't play games.

I just got back from the Fry's store on the SW Fwy in Houston. My wife was with me, so I was able to pick up two of these combos. The ad in the Houston Chronicle shows two SKS's, the 2nd one is for the E2200. The cpu is retail with HSF, at least where I was shopping. Sweet deal.

Picked up one at Concord, CA. Retail CPU 2200, great for my budget machine. Can anyone more knowledgeable than myself confirm that bios doesn't have any overclocking features (fsb frequency and voltage all grayed out). I'd love to push it a little, but getting a new board would slightly kill the deal. Any way to overclock this with the 945gct-m?
