E3 vs E6?

Hi i just noticed ewiz was selling E6 3000+ venices. Does anyone have one? How are they compared to the normal E3s? Whats the difference?

I saw over on I think xtremesystems one guy that had a really good chip but I was reading and somebody claimed that the guy bought a bunch and that one chip was the cream of the crop.

Also I noticed they had a 130nm venice? I didn't even know they made anything besides 90nm venices.

I think E6 chips are ones that have failed cache. They Used to have 1KB, but now they have 512 KB. E4s are naturally 512.... I think...

I just ordered an E6 venice, and we'll see how it performs when I get it here on tusday. E6 has some few bugs fixed and they used another type of material to comply with european regulations. Hopefully I can reach what that guy did on xtremesystems. Hacp, the link you gave is an E3 revision. The E6 ends with BW https://www.ewiz.com/detail.php?name=A64-3000BW

i dunno. i'm just speculating this is what it might be. only way to tell i guess would be to remove the IHS off of one of these babies and see how big the core is compared to a normal venice.

I think its a good bet that enabling the second core would be a bad thing. Given the short supply of X2s, I seriously doubt AMD would want to see a functional X2 chip as a single core chip.

This E6 is a replacement for the E3, I highly doubt AMD has enough dead dual cores to replace an entire fleet of processors.

well.. what if they are starting to sell their dual core processors that had 1 core fail? i dunno... this is just speculation...

but from what others say i hear that it's an updated mem controller... but the question is why aren't they releasing it for the 3200/3500/3800 and the SD cores?

Thats odd, I see e6 revisions for all Venice processors. Look here at MSI's compatibility chart, notice how the boards are compatible with 3000/3200/3500/3800 e6 venices. http://www.msi.com.tw/program/products/..._cpu_support_detail.php?UID=607&kind=1
