Man, I have this 2140 running beautifully at 3.4G, it is so very hard to say goodbye to a 100%+ overclocked chip.... maybe I ust have to build yet another rig!

right on, I'd just build a new rig and leave that 100% table 3.4G along for now. Hard to beat a machine that runs well. My older 754 rig running on the venerable Tforce 6100 is the same. I just love that rig. Now I delegate it to NAS duty. it's still one of the best board I've ever owned. Still running strong.

~1.44v or more. In comparison, an e8600 can reach 4.0Ghz with 1.05v

My Abit IP35-E does NOT support the E5200 according to this Table. However it supports other Wolfdales like the E7x00's and E8x00's.

Do I have to wait for a firmware upgrade?

Since Abit is pulling out of motherboard business, new software/firmware is unlikely.

Are you using BIOS 18? I think the e5200 should work fine.

I assume you mean v15, the latest on that table I linked?

If so I'm sure I'll need to upgrade, last touched it in ~March. I remember it was painful, doesn't like my floppy. Don't recall exactly the steps.

I also got a 35E, but I think Intel isn't releasing anything new after this round for P35s so we should be ok. ANything newer we all have to get new boards anyways.

I've just got my E5200. Its a dog. Refuses to boot up at any fsb over 310 regardless of multiplier (hint: 6x310 is only 1.8ghz, and I've tried everything from 6x to 12.5x max). I have a P43 board that does over 400+ fsb no problem. It seems some of these bottom of the barrel 45nm parts are somewhat hardware locked for FSB, like some of the rumors you may have heard about other intel core products. I can hit 3.5ghz with this chip and thats it. Barely any better than a 1.5+ yr old e2xxx.

Only 3.5Ghz? 310 FSB x 12.5 is 3.875! My friend's runs at 3.75Ghz stable at 1.4v (actual), 300 FSB x 12.5.
