E6300 overclockers unite!

Got my E6300 and Gigabyte GA-965P DS3 mobo today from my favorite local dealer.

Now currently at 2.8GHz at stock Vcore and HSF. :Q This is my first CPU that can run 31 bots in CS: S with very playable frame rates!

EDIT: Gotta hit the magical 3GHz mark tomorrow! All voltages at stock except RAM which is 2.0V.

EDIT: 3.03GHz and it booted into Windows! Running dual SP2004s now. I'm going ballistic!

EDIT: 3.26GHz! Holy Cow...Still everything on stock except 2.1 Vdimm. The board seems to automatically loosen the RAM timings as I up the FSB (now at 466). BTW there is no <1:1 memory divider, or an option to change the RAM timings (F3 BIOS). Superpi 1M = 17 secs.

EDIT: At 3.26GHz SP2004 error at ~8 mins, I think the RAM is crapping out. So back to stable 3.03GHz. Anyway that was hell of a ride.

I had a hell of a time getting my motherboard set properly, but now I'm at 3.1 GHz and climbing. If anybody is having trouble overclocking their Conroe, look at the mobo. It's not the CPUs for sure. They're all overclocking like mad.

I see you have the DDR2-667 Team RAM, something i am very interested in.

Which kit? Teh new 3-3-3 one or the previous 3-4-4 one?

How high have you got it thus far? Highest it will go @ 3-3-3?

Biostar board is hitting 450 with the latest bios.... just throwing out another option although the Gigabyte DS3 is a heck of motherboard and probably more suited for long term overclocking, still sorting out some weird driver issues with the JMB363.

DS3 is an OK board, but it only has 1 IDE port. As well the 1.8v DDR2 RAM issue sucks.

My money's still on the P5W-DH.

1T to ddr800ish, Low latency ram settings in bios and some nice new ram tweaks will have you begging to get one...I know I want a final board as my workstation

That was over a month ago, claims of 550FSB by Master Tony now....

Currently have my E6300 @ 2.35GHz on my P5B-D.

Still stock voltages, stock heatsink. Gonna wait till I get an aftermarket cooler before I push it further. Seeing this beauty in the reported 55c range is just scary to me.

I have the original 3-4-4-8 stuff that's "sold out" now but all of the Team Extreme RAM has the same Micron D9GMH chips inside. They just changed the sticker and increased the price. The 667 3-3-3-8, 800 4-4-4-10, and 1000 5-5-5-15 is all the same stuff.

I'm at DDR2-916 (3.2 GHz 1:1) 4-4-4-12 @ 2V right now.

It's disappointing that they raised the price, but for a Canuck like me, even getting it from TankGuys & paying teh border fee or whatever it's called, it's still a good deal.
