List motherboard and bios as well...

Run it at stock then at 1988mhz, and anything else you can get...

My 6300@1988mhz on gigabyte S3 mobo gets 28sec

My 6600*1988mhz (7x284) on Gigabyte DS3 mobo gets 24sec
My 6600*3.45ghz gets 13sec

**4mb of cache definitely helps here!!

need it for a friend for comparison....

my 6400 with the settings @ my sig gets 17's, @3650 with some edited timings it gets around 15.6 on xs1.5, and 14s on sse3 patched. I'd offer screenshots but I'm trying to get my windows reinstalled and i'm having a great deal of issues,

Just finished my build last night, did some minor OC'ing and checked Super PI, so you're in luck.

-E6300, Gigabyte GA-965P-S3, OCZ Platinum DDR2 6400 (800) @ 4-5-14-15

First off, 6300 stock is 1.86 ghz, not 1.98 ghz like you mentioned. In any case, stock 6300 runs SuperPI in 28 or 29 secs across the board.

I just started OC'ing, and I got 24-25 sec @ 2.3 ghz stable with all stock volts. I'm shooting for sub-20 Super PI with a Zalman 9500 cooler.

Your times sound bang on for the 6300.

I said run it at stock AND THEN 1.988ghz...I know stock speed is 1.86ghz...The 1.988ghz was to give a comparison for a fellow AT member MarkFW900....

The 4mb cache version chips seem to get a nice 15-20% boost

Ok... I got 18sec on my 6300 w/ 450 FSB.

Hey, could you run your 6600 at about 3.15 and see what it does?

It does it at 16sec...when I run it with an 8x multi for higher ram speed I can hit 15sec

the best I have gotten is 12sec at 3.4ghz but it is not orthos stable....

Heh luck is elusive sometimes.

Your E6600 @ 3.2 is still faster than my E6400 @ 3.4 GHz in most things i suspect.

That is true from what I saw from an E6300 and E6600....

Ya, well my RAM timings were at 6-6-6-20 or something, also. I'm sure that didn't help much... shouldda bought a 6400.

I sold it, but I had an E6300 running at 3.15GHz on the DS4 (7x450 4-4-4). Superpi1M was around 18 seconds (perhaps 17.5).

If I recall correctly, an E6600 running on similar speed was 2 seconds faster.

Edit: Bios used F3, F4 and F5

the difference of 2mb and 4mb cache in real world applications at stock speeds I;ve been told is 5-10% and as the fsb increases that lead actually shrinks. superpi is a memory limited program, the extra cache works wonders for it. most programs aren't that way imo.

I just got a new motherboard ( S3) and some PC800 DDR1000, and running 7 x 500 @1:1 for 3.5 ghz, now superpi is 16 seconds.1.4v vcore 5-5-5-15 timings. This is my first OC attemp, I just Asked Duvie what to try ,and it worked.
