E6600 overclock

So i finally overclocked my cpu. Also i went over the overclocking guide stickied on this page. I have been out of the loop for more than 2 years and somehow i find it really hard to cope. Last time i was active was back in the S939 days (i had an a64 3000 @ 2.6 ghz on a 9NDA3J).

I have an E6600 on a P5K-E mobo. So far the only thing i adjusted was the FSB. 356 (356 x9). Btw, my ram is 4Gb PC2 6400. I'm happy with a 3.2 Ghz clock but i want to know more. How do i check in bios if im running 1:1? At what setting should my vcore be at? Is it the bios im using thats confusing me? lol

Btw, all other settings were left on auto.

Alright, glad that you decided to o/c your e6600.

Now i have the e6600 matched with the P5K vanilla, so i'm not sure if the bios is exactly the same as yours. From what I know, by adjusting your fsb, you can choose from an option of what memory frequency you want to run it at. There should be like 4 choices, and the values are dynamically changed based on what you set your fsb to. (ie, if you set yours to 356, one of your options should be ddr2-712).

If you want 1:1, set your fsb to 400, but it might not be stable enough without a decent cooler. You could try 400x8 first, or get a better cooler (my last attempt to go 400x8 led to a crash, but i think my vcore was too low).

For my e6600, i could hit 3.0ghz at about 1.325v, so i figure i could probably hit 3.2 at about 1.4? that might be a bit too high for me, so i'd top off at 3.0 unless i switch up my ACFreezer 7 for a better one. But consider 1.4 to be a good number to stay below for your vcore.

My E2140s hit 3.2 with 1.36v vcore (actual, load), 1.425v (BIOS).
