Hi, I'm having a bit of trouble getting my e6750 at 3.4 ghz to pass the prime95 torture test. What would be the recommended voltages to boost on my specific hardware? I have it stable at 3.2 with everything at stock except for the memory which is up .2 This runs perfect for everything but at 3.4 I start having issues. Thanks.

Post your bios settings and i'll try and figure it out for you...

are you running 4 sticks of 1GB?
if so, you might want to up the voltage on the NB (MCH). Having all your RAM banks filled puts more stress on your memory controller, therefor it needing a little more juice.

read through the next thread, it should be very similar to your setup (cpu and mobo wise).

Looks like you got your questions answered. I had an e6750 rock solid stable at 3.71 GHz. I wound up swapping it out for a wolfdale.

I have read through both of those threads posted here before and still had issues. When I have more time I will post my exact bios settings. The issue is I can't figure out exactly what voltages I need to raise to make it stable at 3.4. My ram sticks are 2 X 2 GB.

Turn off C1E and Enhanced SpeedStep (EIST, I think) and see if that is a factor. Assuming you haven't already.

Is the 6750 an 8x multiplier chip? I forget.

Also, I wonder if the RAM is limiting. It may be rated firmly at DDR2-800 but not be able to run much faster. it does happen. Try a couple of Corsairs or OCZ and see if that makes a difference. Of course, it sucks having to throw money at a problem. But really, OCland has no guarantees. Intel certainly doesn't guarantee that you'll get a 1 GHz OC out of a 6750.

You may simply own a chip that can't go past 3.4.
