well I guess ds4 model is a little different. ASSUMING the board still has the 1.8v default memory volts setting, You would need to add more volts to you ram to put it to it's specification. What is that? Usually 2.1v or 2.2V (+.3v or +.4v). Just to the math and set it I would also change your memory multiplier to 2.0. This will give you a 1:1 ratio.

my ddr2 overload voltages goes up in 5's 0.5, 0.10, 0.15 etc.... if i set the multipliar to 2.0 wont that be less MHZ? i thought that is that how you overclock the ram, but need to add more voltage.

i'm not sure ya see, just started learning about this )

mrfatboy is trying to help you get your max stable oc. if you leave the multiplier at 2.5 then you're eventually going to be stuck raising the mhz, even if you up your overvoltage to .4. that memory does default to 1.8, basically crucial just factory overclocked it to 1066 5-5-5-15. you can temporarily drop your mem mult to 2.0 so that you're putting the fsb stress on the cpu and mobo. For example, during max overclock testing on my mobo, I set memory timings to auto and multiplier 1:1 (same as 2.0 on your mobo). I got a max fsb of 468. I couldn't get anything higher even at 6x or 7x, so I knew that I was maxed out. Then I started tweaking the system to get a good stable oc that didn't turn my room into an oven, and I ended up at 3.504 (8x438). I then went back and changed the memory multiplier to 5:6 so I'm running at ddr2 1051. I could probably get a 4:5 multi out of it but it is such an insignificant difference compared to the higher clock speed on the oc.

edit: doh! I couldn't get my cpu to post over 3.3 or so at stock vcore, so you need to start raising your vcore, too. I ended up at 1.52 in bios at 3.504 (1.48 after vdroop).

bryanw1995,

Over at the 6750 & p35C-dsr3 thread we are trying to figure out if the board has crappy voltage regulation. You and I have similiar systems but our boards and ram are different. It's not a full proof test but close enough for now.

I got a favor to ask you. Can you run Everest and/or speedfan and tell me what your memory voltages are? What memory voltage setting do you have in the bios? Are your settings in the IP board abolute or offsets like our Gigabyte board. And if you have the time report your findings at 1.8, 1.9, 2.0, 2.1, 2.2.

thanks

shit! I just tried to reply twice to this and froze up both times. I can monitor just about all bios settings from uGuru and also view actual current settings after vdroop. I run my memory at ddr2 1052, 2.2v, memory 5-5-5-18 1T. It is currently at 2.18v, but it keeps bouncing back and fort from 2.2 to 2.18. I couldn't find voltage settings for memory in speedfan or everest home edition, but uGuru is accurate by all accounts. You can actually edit bios settings from uGuru, too, so it's a nice overclocking tool, too. I don't think you can edit memory settings, however. let me try at 2.1, 2.0, etc. oops, you can. let me post this first in case my computer freezes up.

ok, it froze up. it looks like it's either cpu-z or having uGuru active that's freezing it. maybe it's a combo of the two of them... anyway, 2.1 vcore in bios fluctuates from 2.08 to 2.1, just like 2.2 - 2.18 back and forth. 2.0 is same, 1.98 then 2.0, back and forth.
