You need to represent your Memory speed correctly then in your sig

i'm sure I will be asking you alot questions next week

This thread has ideas for overclocking with the Abit IP35 Pro:
http://www.xtremesystems.org/f...d.php?t=147163&page=24
Including one poster who re-seated the heat pipe for better contact, using 6 small screws to improve heat transfer.
Also: information on flashing of the beta bios b004 (including instructions for bootblock flashing) for best overclocking.

thanks vailr!

no, I'll leave the 1066 in my sig since it is rated at 1066 5-5-5-15, but I don't know of a lot of ddr800 4-4-4-12 that will not do over 1000. I only paid 89.99AR for mine, however, so I can't complain too much

Yes, i got it last month at buy.com. They also had the deal 2 days ago but it is off now. I think newegg has it for $80 now.

It looks like I should have bought another 2x1 when I got these, though I might just keep x32 for a while and settle on 2x512 upgrade later.

I am also losing about .03v during load, that's the one thing that almost got me to for the more expensive asus mobo. I'm not exactly happy at 3.48 & 1.47v, but I have good temps and it's pretty darn close to what most others are at on an e6750. I'm just going to hold my breath and pray for good prices on penryn in 9 mos. I mean, seriously, how can sombody survive playing civ4 and kotor with only an e6750 @3.48??? I might not be able even play the games...
btw, what do you think is better on mem? I have 1066 mem, am I better going 4:5 and getting around 1050 or trying for 3-4-3-10 at 1:1?

KOTOR? I'm only going to play Tetris on this machine hehe

Hmm OK, so voltage drop is normal. I suppose it's the value in Windows (SpeedFan, CPU-Z) that is important?

I agree with you, I'm not overly happy with 3.5 Ghz @ 1.46v, but I guess it will work for a while.
(Orthos stable for 1 hour now BTW)

Good question - higher mem divider or lower timings. Thought about it myself, but haven't tested anything yet. I will probably run a few 3Dmark06 runs and see which is faster (as it's games that's important for me). Memory benchmarks, bah!

every motherboard has vdroop at load when running windows. The overpriced Asus p5K Deluxe is no exception. There are mods to remove the droop though.

per post in mobo section I'm down to 8x400 at all stock voltages after flashing bios. computer going back to buggy behavior of not even powering up at certain settings. for example, I was running at 8x435 @1.48vcore, 1:1.25 mem multiplier, 1.48 mch, 1.27 vtt, 1.05 ich, and 1.65ichio before flash. would not even power up computer at these settings. reset cmos, loaded these back into bios but used 1:1.2 mult, would not load windows. tried loading into safe mode, no dice. tried 1:1 with same result. not sure how this will help me get over 3.5 at decent voltage but will keep you updated this weekend.

3.15, but im limited by motherboard.

Im very happy with my B3 actually, i just dont want people to be misled into thinking newegg is shipping all G0s. They clearly arent.

did you flash with the switches I told you to? If not that is the problem. You ned to use the wntire series of switches in awdflash in order to flash the boot block too.

Here is the odd thing, I ran ORTHOS for over 26 hours before I stopped at 7x500 1.45v (Bios). It also ran at 7x508 in ORTHOS for 3 hours before I stopped it.

I'm currently running at 7x511 = 3577 1.45v without error.

I have even booted at 3.9GHz at 1.55v (Bios)

All of this on Air with a eVGA 680i MB and the P30 Bios and temps around 53-59C according nTune.
You have a better chip by far than I do. I can't do anything over 468. I let it run last night for an hour on orthos at 3704 but vcore was stupid at 1.64. kept inching down vcore b/c I didn't want to run 24/7 over 1.5, now I'm at 1.47v and 8x435 stable. I still need to fine tune the mem and chipset voltages but otherwise I'm done. I was very suprised at temps since everyone seemed to think that the vcore was out of this world, it only ran 64c absolute max with orthos running an hour last night and 2xseti@home running after that until this am. now it runs at 50c full load, which is significantly lower than many get and also much better than my opteron 180 in the file server. I guess that tuniq and p900 are doing their job .
Mine was not stable at 7x511 in ORTHOS as it errored after a 6 minutes, yet was fine in 2x32m of SuperPi.

However, it was stable at 7x508 1.45v for 14h52m before it errored in ORTHOS. Ram was at 1016MHz @4-4-4-12.

I've have also been able to run it at 8x462 @ 1.475 for over 15 hours before the system froze while running ORTHOS. Ram was at 1066MHz 5-5-5-15.

Doh. At least I'll be able to play Tetris. ;(

Now running stable at 3400 Mhz @ 1.475 Vcore-BIOS (1.448 in CPU-Z, 1.440 load). Tweaking memory now.

is that 1.45v in bios or after vdroop? I cannot get anywhere near that good in voltages. I ran 1hr + at 3.704 but had 1.64 v in bios. I don't remember vdroop and I'm not going back there, but I think it was in the 1.57 range. I went out of town yesterday so I haven't tweaked from 3.2, I'm currently at stock voltage (1.31 after vdroop) at 8x400 running 2xseti@home.

Or use a USB Flash drive if you have one. You can use 3rd party tools to format it with DOS startup files if you want.

hehe...you could just plug it in to flash and leave it hang outside the case. I did that for a time.

hopefully you guys will get a better oc at better vcore than I have thus far. Ok, I thought about leaving it to hang outside the case. get this: my two front case fans prevent me from installing it in one of the normal bays so I installed below my dvd drive... I need to take a pic of this one b/c it looks like s***! However, now that it's in there it's not going anywhere!

11 bios is definitely an improvement on max stable oc. I'm at 8x451 right now at 1.52v. running small ffts all night to make sure nothing is amiss. That's probably a little higher voltage than I would run in an ideal situation, but this cpu needs more vcore and my tuniq can definitely take the pain. It's running at 61c running dual small ffts, installing the supcom 3254 patch, formatting a hard drive, posting here, another tab open in ie7, uguru, cpuz, and cat7.7 running. However, this is the first time that I've experienced any kind of slowdown, too. A quad sure would come in handy right now...
