cleverest,
I have read about this problem before. It's happening more and more. I actually just posted a WTF post over at Tweaktown to see if they can give an answer. They have a gigabyte guy there.
What version of the board to you have? 1.0, 1.1, 2.0?
I had this problem once. Here's what I did to fix it and in this order. No guarantees to you however
1) power off at power supply
2) unplug power supply from wall
3) swear, panic, swear again, pray
4) wait 30 minutes
5) power back on and it worked
I also read people using different ram, or trying just 1 stick at a time. I would also try taking out all of your PCI cards and only plug in what is necessary. Clear cmos & remove battery. If I had to guess, this board, or later versions of it have power regulation issues. BUT THIS IS ONLY A GUESS. I love my board and there are many that have this board and love it also. Quality control issue?
Good luck.
