Started overclocking my E7200 on the Gigabyte UD3P. This board is absolutely amazing for overclocking. I managed to hit 3.1GHz on the stock cooler and stock volts. Load temps are 40c.

I wonder if it is because the motherboard PCB has 2oz of copper in it ?

Benching Far Cry 2 now.

No.

3.166GHz is very easy to obtain on an E7200 regardless of motherboard

I am running that right now an a cheap ECS motherboard w limited overclocking options. Same load temps also (stock volts and stock cooler)

You can push that cpu more than that.

^^ agreed

Mine does 3.2 on stock volts and currently 3.7 @ 1.29v.

You have yet to reach the limits of the chip, let alone the board

I can hit 3.8 at 1.36v, you still have quite a ways to go before you hit the 1.4v wall.

Yea, I agree with what was said here. However, I am trying to achieve the best overclock possible, but with lowest volts as possible.

Plan on going a lot higher once the TRUE Black comes in

What I've finally settled on is 3.51GHz @ 1.32v, it gives me: 32C Idle, 42C Load, 52C Linpack

Overall, I'm rather satisfied.

I agree with your intentions, JPB. I have done that with my E7200. For 3.8GHz, it takes quite a lot of volts to get stable so I settled for 3.7GHz.

It wasn't worth the extra heat/stress for that 100mhz more.

if your Load temps are only 40 degrees currently, you should still be able to go a bit higher w stock volts and stock cooler

I'd really like to see your results. I think you could probably get 3.3 maybe 3.4GHz with the stock cooler/volts at a still acceptable load temp. Why not try a little higher with the stock cooling?
