Nice one havoti. But this is total horsesh*t that several of you had the UPS guy come back to try to snag your package off the porch.

I'd suggest you examine your credit card bill in case they try to "correct" the pricing mistake for those deliveries they couldn't intercept.

Bottom line, I'll never buy from Tiger Direct or what's left of Compusa after what you all are going through. (Actually I came to this conclusion 4 years ago).

I have my own hopes... on that $99 C2D E6850 deal from Dell.com earlier today. Knowing Dell, they'll probably pull that crap like they did last time with the 8800GT cards, have a great price on a hot item, take orders, not ship parts and try to get people to "voluntarily" cancel, then finally ship parts a couple months later when average prices were falling.

I would think once the UPS driver drops it off at your house it is your property whether you are home or not.

What you all should do is, contact them, let them know if your chips are not shipped, that you will be putting a full page ad in a few magazines, like pc magazine, games for windows, etc. Get a collection from everyone that was screwed and get it done. Put a full page ad stating what they have done and how poor customer service is.

For the "Out for Delivery" ones...cant you just call the local office and pick it up later? Tell them its your package and you have a receipt for it

i would figure that would basically ruin any odds you had of getting it.

i mean compusa could say they accidentally sent you the wrong thing and not whats on your reciept.

UPS wont care. They arent in the business of making a judgement call. They got an intercept request by the shipper.

UPS has to attempt delivery once before you can put a hold on the package.

I just received mine. No intercept notices or anything. Was a normal buying experience for me. So there is hope. It was delivered to the offce (municipal) and I made sure to take possesion (grab it) immediately.

I feel for everybody who got ripped and lied to. I already felt their selection was poor and overpriced. Now I have moral issues with TD/CompUSA.

i'm reading about this fiasco here and on FW. its so horrendously messed up that its beautiful. i'm rooting for you guys that placed orders though. shame that the compussr/tiger REdirect name will be worth less than dirt because of this though. haha. i feel really bad for UPS though, since they are not to blame. but i know some angry folks will be gunning for the messenger anyways.

dunno, if it were me, when it said on truck ready for local delivery, I would go down to the terminal at first opening in the morning (6:30 AM for me) and show a printout of the track info, and hope you could get the package before the involved driver gets in his truck and leaves with it.
I would think your best bet is to NOT let the driver have at your package.

Tried this once with FedEx and they will not do it. Despite being on a first name basis with the manager he wouldn't let me accept delivery anywhere other than the package's delivery address. That said, mine required a signature, perhaps if yours doesn't they'll be a bit more relaxed about it.

P.S. - If you ordered one, did you get a settlement check from the class action suit ? I got one for thirty-some dollars, and I was never even once involved with all that bruhaha, besides placing an order.

I can't believe that some of the UPS drivers went back to pick up the packages after delivery. That seems like it would be illegal. Once the paid for package is successfully delivered it is yours and UPS has no legal right to pick it up. I hope the people who this happened to file a complaint with UPS and authorities.
