Now $189.99 shipped.

I can't beleive it, I just paid $199.99 less than an hour ago.... Damn! :|
I got this board also..

Online chat (or call) and they'll usually (99.9999%) take care of the $10!

Wow, I just looked at my order status and it is showing at the $189.99 price.
Not sure what exactly happened, but I am happier..

Thanks Engineer for alerting me to that, but I guessed they fixed it already.

No it isn't. CPU's have been in existence for only tens of years....barely off the gorund and most certainly in its infancy. Read your quote about ten years from now, I am sure you'll have a great chuckle....

Well, I guess it's yet another "age thing".

'Cause I gotta agree with the Pabster. Then again, back in the day, we got all jazzed about replacing an 8088/8086 with a V30 for a whopping jump up of a whole coupla MHz.

heres a good thread on the 3110 vs the 8400
seems as tho there is a bit of controversy as to whether the 3110 runs a lot hotter at higher voltages, or the 8400 runs the same but its temp diodes dont report it correctly, or if the 3110 doesnt report correctly
http://www.xtremesystems.org/f...howthread.php?t=178255

I also see that eva2000 (George from Austraiia) got an 8500 retail that has FPO Batch of Q750XXXX (2007 week 50)
Thats the latest week I've seen, so it would be nice if the buyers here could report what week they got (NOT the pack date) - which might tell how far along Intel is in the rampup to 45nm

Edit:

Intel churning out 100,000 45 nm processors every day

(By the end of the first quarter, roughly 75% of Intel?s processor output will be based on 65 nm and 25% on 45 nm. Sometime in the third quarter, Intel expects to reach the crossover and produce more 45 nm chips than 65 nm units.)

This is the fourth time in HD you have posted that link to Intel spokesman, TWICE in this thread
Is that all you got???
You work for Intel?

What is it about that up until Friday THERE WERE VIRTUALLY NONE TO BE HAD IN THE U.S. that you dont understand????
The U.S. is the biggest market - why havent some of those 3,100,000 chips/month shown up here??
If the latest chip to be seen is Dec '07 (only popped up last week) and its now April, then maybe things arent as they seem.
Does Dell and HP have first dibbs?
Are the OEM cpu's showing up part of reduced prebuilt sales estimates due to recession?
And there are TONS of 8400 and 8500 and 9XXX boxed chips in the Akiba district, verified by eyewitness accounts
I have also read (unconfirmed) that there are 20,000,000 65nm chips still stuck in the channel.

Theres lots more going on here than your link offering

Thanks OP. I cancelled my order with Micro Center and order the OEM e8400 from NewEgg instead. I feel safer ordering from NewEgg knowing it will arrive fast and they are great about returns.

Obviously you want to believe in some Intel conspiracy instead of the facts, I'm sure that eventually you give up paranoia and move on.

Naw, I just want you to stop posting that Otellini PR link repeatedly
If I see a C1 stepping appear and they show up all over, then I'll move on.
Hey, you think these OEM's are coming from Austin Tx.???
Just a thought

FWIW: Those purchasing these chips should get the newest CPUID 144.2

Hmmm, dunno if free shipping but if so it would be around 180 bucks.

This might be a good time to link to an article on how some vendors (unbelievably) spend $1.93 for a fake box and HSF in order to sell an OEM CPU as retail boxed to make an additional $12 - $15
http://www.techarp.com/showart....aspx?artno=527&pgno=1

Kind of boggles the mind, doesnt it?
I seriously doubt any of the sellers here would do that.
But its nice to know anyways.

Update:"
The OEM 8400 at the egg is now OOS with no replace date

Ends up being $190.50 shipped/AC for me. Tempting... but I'll resist. I'm actually really pleased with all my computers at this moment...
