lmao it's like talking to a fvcking bot.

I often use these online help things and I would say 90% of the time I get nothing out of them, they're worthless. I continue to do them just to waste company time and for my own enjoyment. These people are managing so many customers at once and seem to never have access to any account information.

I had a similar experience with EA chat support. I’m sure she was “foreign” but used an English nick-name to seem local.

Also whenever she didn’t understand English or my question, she just regurgitated a company line (e.g. “I’m sorry this has inconvenienced you”).

EA online chat support ranks up their with Dell...always go through phone. Once I learned that, I've never had a problem.

Also, it's on you. Promotion had a clear date of validity. I personally prefer Amazon's pre-order guarantee, but that's also pretty damn unique in the business AND I've NEVER seen them put a AAA title in the mix, usually it's $10-20 future credit deals.

Customers who pre ordered the game earlier should get the same deal as those who pre ordered it later, if not then they should at least be given the same deal if they ask for it. EA is garbage

Hell no they shouldn't. If you dont meet the terms of their freebie giveaway, why do you think the op would be entitled to it.

Ohhh, I get it. It was ordered it a couple days earlier. Sure, he should get it. In fact, people who ordered it a month earlier should also. Why stop now. Anyone who heard of this game and pre ordered it before the beginning of this year should also get it, right?

Fact is, He didn't meet their criteria, and now want something he is not entitled to.

ANYONE. ANY. ONE. who preordered before the promotion deserved the promotion. Period. It's just good customer service and rewards your true fans. If I preordered the day I heard about the game, yet someone who was on the fence waited and then only preordered for the freebie why should they get it but not me? That's terrible. Then again, so is EA.

Why? What entitles you to this?

I've never seen a company that doesn't extend such promotions to customers that ordered before these pre-order offers were made.

Simply, it's good business.

and lol, what a pathetic attempt to try and turn this into a political argument.

OK, dude.

I didn't say anything about being entitled. I said it's good customer service.

You said anyone who preorders it deserves the bonus. That's entitlement. Not providing everyone the preorder bonus is not bad customer service at all, it's the nature of limited time bonuses.

I have to assume the people who side with EA on this have never actually had good customer service or dealt with a good company before.

Its a dick move to have that promotion going and deny people who ask for it.

I'm tired of this argument... so I'll just say this:

There was no "start date" specified on the website. It simply said "Free copy of battlefield 3 with preorder" -- now if it said, ""Free copy of battlefield 3 for orders after Feb 14" -- maybe you'd have an argument. But it didn't, so you don't.

you accepted an offer to buy a product

later the offer was changed to new customers and you want the new offer. EA is not under any obligation to give you the new offer

It wouldn't be any skin off their back to honor preorders made before the 3 day period this was available if a customer asked for it. They don't even have to give it to everyone, just the ones who ask and did in fact order it before the promotion ended.

We're talking about a digital download here, not a physical copy. The cost involved to honor something like this is extremely small. Good CS goes a long way, as does building goodwill with your customers. You help someone out and their more likely to buy other products from you in the future. It's clear from this specific conversation and policy that EA is not concerned about building goodwill among their customer base and that's pretty sad IMO.

I also go terrible tech support by online chat, it feels like they are a bunch of bots, very frustrating. Regardless of which company EA/Blizzard etc, email/webchat tech support is the worst.

However, I've had great experience by phone tech support with EA/Blizzard and other things I may need assistance on.

This is why I always call the tech support line, even though it may take longer than email/webchat support, I've always had my issues resolved.

Maybe because I am mild mannered person, that they are more incline to help me out.

I suggest you give them a call

PC – 650-628-1905
Online – 866-543-5435
Console – 650-628-4322

Found them in google

Did it say that when you preordered it?

I've contacted your so called support multiple times. After getting absolutely NO reply to my issues, I get automated replies saying you haven't heard from ME in a while, then have my support ticket closed with no response. I lost access to my pre-order contact when your support fixed an issue with my not being able to login from within game, and not able to access purchased DLC due to a corrupted account. I gave up trying to ask for support on your website because I never get anything but automated replies, or the live chat support says they can't help. They tell me my issue has been escalated, and a senior person will contact me, which was a strait up lie, because no one every contacted me. If you actually read this again, I can assure you with that kind of support I will NEVER buy another EA game.

EA just today finally responded to my email support request.

Their response? They closed the case without providing any response whatsoever..
