EA shut down Visceral, makers of Dead Space and an upcoming Star Wars game

Visceral is famous for the Dead Space games, and they were working on a single player third person Star Wars game authored by Amy Hennig, who wrote Uncharted 1-3.

From EA's statement about the closure, it sound a lot like they want to make a game like Destiny and The Division.

I like single player games, I don't care about MMOs, or shared world shooters, so this makes me angry. It also makes me angry that Disney gave EA the license for Star Wars games.

They are making that type of game already, it's called Anthem. Bioware is using the Frostbite engine for it. I don't like EA much, haven't in years, and Bioware's last few games have been piles of crap IMO so I don't think they will turn it around this time.

EA had the money and were ready to buy the license right there so of course Disney gave it to them. They probably got multiple millions for just the name alone before any announced products. I said at first that it's good that EA got it because they have the money to do something with it, but when they make the only title they release using the Star Wars name a pay to win title they have very little hopes of getting me interested in anything they do.

I liked dead space but I honestly use my Origin account maybe once every two months. I still haven't finished Andromeda and seeing where they took the NFS series I don't usually spend a dime on there. It's a shame, because ME2, Dead Space 2 and Crysis 2 were great games but nothing like that will ever be released again. I hate Battlefield outright and I don't play sports games so there isn't much for me on there either.
